Summary: Significant Revelation in Names
Review: Dr. Sumrall shows how God revealed Himself to various people in the Bible through various names. These names indicated a certain aspect of His character. It was a method of instruction which holds validity today. "God's name is holy. It should be spoken reverently," Dr. Sumrall writes.

On the subject of worshipping God, he traces the root of the word, telling us, it comes from "the Old English word 'weorthscipe,' meaning 'to attribute worth' to something." Worship is part of prayer. In explaining more fully James 5:16 about the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man, he says "effectual" means you should pray for specific results. That goes along with faith as taught by Jesus.

A good point is made in comparing Abraham and Lot. Dr. Sumrall reminds us, "One man tried to make something of himself; the other let the most high God make something of him. And which one succeeded?" I highly recommend this book. You will learn more about God and how to relate to Him as you prayerfully read it.
