Review: Ellen Spolsky must be commended for bringing together these nine essays under one binding. The story of Susanna is a fascinating topic, not only in its "late Jewish" context, but also in the context of its cultural impact on later writers, artists, and librettists. Most of these aspects are discussed in this volume, and each of the contributors makes a wonderful contribution to the field of Susanna studies. I cannot recommend this collection enough for those interested in Susanna
