Summary: I can't wait for the sequel. I loved this book
Review: A very fast paced book about a young girl in Ireland whose father and brother went to America to seek the families fortune. She was left on her own after the death of her mother and sisters. She went to live with her aunt and uncle and was forced to leave after a natural disaster. After the death of their father in America, her brother is doing his best to make money to bring his mother and sisters to America (unaware that the mother and sisters have died). It is a very moving story.

Summary: Riveting....You can't put the book down!
Review: B.J. Hoff is one of my favorite authors. Her characters are always real-to-life, they are never unbelievable! Ireland has a beauty and a horror all its own, and Ms. Hoff portrays both. I just wish she would write the sequel--it has been two years.

Summary: What a Story!
Review: I just read this and its sequel Ashes and Lace and will read both of them again soon! You just can't put her books down. Her characters are so real you feel like you know them personally, or at least wish you could! And the spiritual message is one of the strongest I've ever read anywhere, but she doesn't preach! Hope there's a third book.

Summary: A True Saga of Tragedy & Triumph!
Review: I truly enjoyed this rags to riches story about "Jack Kane". The very sad Therese Sheridan who fights to get from under great poverty.

This book was a fast read and I am axious to know when the next book will be out.

Summary: Another treasure by a gifted writer
Review: There is no book by B.J.Hoff that I wouldn't recommend. But if you buy this book, you need to buy the Ashes and Lace sequel. It's a marvelous spellbinder, which has made the rounds of my family and back again. I also recommend the Emerald Ballad series which I never let too far from home. They are well worth the price whatever you pay.
