Summary: A bit biased towards Christians
Review: This book provides a good backgound on the early disciples of Yeshua (actually Yehoshua). It is biased in that the first disciples were Jewish and remained so. They were not known as Hebrew Christians, as they were known as Netzarim and lived within the Jewish community. After the 15th Jewish paqid, the Gentile Christians took hold and steered the early sect away from its true, Jewish roots. This is a good starter book, but you should verify all references.

Review: Wouldn't it be wonderful if all Christians could understand the Judaic background to the religious tenets they profess and practice? This is a book that will lend meaning to many of the sayings of Jesus that we are taught in Sunday school. Confession of sin, God's grace: these are some of the concepts which Christianity inherited from Judaism! This is one of books that I will read again and again.
