Summary: Great for Basic Discipling in the Christian Faith
Review: Many Christians do not know the very basics about their faith. New Christians need to know the basics of the faith if they are to live joyful and changed lives as Jesus expects.

With this in mind I wrote this book of 25 chapters that covers the following: How to know you are saved; Repentance and forgiveness; God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit; Prayer, the Bible and Praise; Spiritual warfare and the flesh and the world; The Great Commandment and the Ten Commandments with emphasis on the home, marriage and raising children; The Church, God's calling on your life and ministry; Overcoming Adversity; Freedom from the past; Developing Christian Character and Walking in the Spirit.

This book was enthusiastically endorsed by Chuck Colson, Dr. Peter Wagner, Dr. Ed Young and other Christian leaders.

The book makes a good study series of 25 weeks or lessons with discussion questions, two Bible memory verses and various verses to look up in each of the chapters. The book can be self taught, taught by a mentor, by a parent or grandparent to children, be used in a large group setting by having a lecture on each chapter, or used in a small group Bible study.

Although this book was recently published by Cook Communications, a large and well known Christian publisher, the book has been used for (1)New Member Classes in Church (2)Sunday School Classes (3)Family studies (4)Prison ministries (5)Overseas church leaders who will never go to a seminary (6)Pregnancy and Mission centers and (7)Small group discussions and Bible studies.

The book is based on the premise that the Bible is the Word of God and that Jesus is the Christ and the Way and the Truth and the Life. The theme of the Book is taken from Luke 4:18 in that Jesus came to save us, then clean us up and then empower us and send us out to fulfill His purposes for our lives. First, of course, we have to know what it is all about, why we are here in the first place and the unlimited power of God, Jesus and the Holy Sirit to make us and mold us into the persons we were created to be.

I am the author and admittedly biased. However, I have heard many good reports from students and teachers alike as over 20,000 persons have gone through this basic course about the Christian faith. Whether in the home or to a large audience, this book has received a marverlous response. I thank God that He put it on my heart to write this. I am a Christian, who loves my family, a practicing lawyer, a former District Attorney, a long time elder and a person who preaches and teaches weekly in the prisons as well as having done overseas field evangelism in some remote parts of the world. This book has come in handy. I hope it will be a blessing to you.

Yours in Christ,
