Review: Those familiar with Powell's works will find this book to be familiar--such was the case with me, and as such I didn't find a huge diversity from his other material; not that this is a bad thing, though! One starts to see Powell's autobiographical bent at work, showing more "laboratory of life" instances from his own experience with faith, doubt, prayer, theology, and psychology instead of his more typical case studies. The Christian will, no doubt, find this a welcome book, if a decidedly Catholic one--again, not that this is a bad thing! Don't look to get bowled over by the message though; this is not "My Utmost for His Highest"--thank God...He makes faith seem more unthreatening, as more a personal choice and way of life instead of a didactic, heavy-handed ultimatum. Highly worth reading.
