Rating: Summary: worst advice ever, from someone with no clue Review: My mother gave me this book for my birthday because I have two young boys. I hate it. I was reading about how boys are different, and I agree they are. However, I don't recognize a lot of the behaviors he talks about in my boys. I continued to read the book in mild disagreement with what he had to say. Then I got to the chapter on Mothers and Sons. Who can seriously take advice from a man who tells mothers their husbands are very busy when they have young children, so try hard not to impose on them. He goes on to advise women they should stay home with their children and if this is not possible, by all means do not use a daycare, send your kids to a relative or friend. I also read that you must raise your children loving Jesus in order to turn out respectful people. I am not disagreeing that Christians are respectful, just that one is not required for the other. Then Dobson goes on to say how wonderful his father was to quit a job that kept his father on the road until Dobson hit high school. What kind of family is that? One who apparently turns out judgmental children who don't like to think outside their little world. I couldn't read any more. This book is a disservice to parents. You can do a better job raising your boys with your own instincts and love. Forget Dobson.
Rating: Summary: worst advice ever, from someone with no clue Review: There are no words to describe this book. After reading it, I gained a much greater sense of gratitude and understanding about my boys.

Rating: Summary: A must for parents with boys! Review: This is a wonderful book! The photography in this book will bring a smile to anyone who has boys. My two boys just love looking at the pictures. Dr. Dobson's advice is right on target. Yes, our children need to be brought up in a home that shows the love of Jesus. Too many words to express this book - just get your own copy and see! It also makes a wonderful coffee table book.
