Rating: Summary: A must Buy Review: You don't have to be a "spiritual being" to learn from this book. Ms Fabius has outdone herself. She's managed to tutor her readers in detailed and simple terms. Even my teenagers follow her fluidly. She explains how to create nurturing, empowering, purifying environemts with things that surround us. She draws upon her vast knowledge so that we can easily create a life free of chaos and worry. Just by using household items for most of her ceremonies: A flower, a candle, honey, a bowl of spring water, a key, some mint, ect. Her Heart and Home ceremony triggered a feeling of peace and vitality around my home. It was unexplainable. I bought 4 books for friends and will get more.
Rating: Summary: Easy to use and fun! Review: "Ceremonies for Real Life" presents a positive and uplifting way to look at the milestones in our lives. It does a miraculous job of marrying practicality with poetry, without being too "New Age" or preachy. Fabius's smart, friendly and casual style makes it very user-friendly and an enjoyable read, even if you don't actually perform the ritual at hand. Taking a graceful approach to celebrations, the book could be useful for everyone from the novice who might be insecure about performing a ceremony to the person who could easily improvise and go with the flow. "Ceremonies" is truly an inspirational look at the sacred in our day-to-day lives and a great gift to share with friends and family.
Rating: Summary: Easy ceremonies for all ages Review: A beautifully written "how to guide" to real Life rituals. "Ceremonies for Real Life" provides the reader with fun and easy ways to organize ceremonies for all life events. Ms. fabius guides us through several ceremonies in details, yet she always leaves room for individual ideas. I recently attended my first ceremony of love. I found myself relaxing more and more, letting the gentle soothing message filter through my body. I would definitely recommend this book to the young and old, there is something in it for everyone!
Rating: Summary: Ceremony around the world Review: A friend arrived on my doorstep armed with "Ceremonies for Real Life" and proceeded to perform a ritual to bless my new home. It was magical and left me and my space transformed. I have since shared this lovely book with my friends around the world. As a result "Ceremonies for Real Life" have been performed in Australia and Germany, India and beyond!
Rating: Summary: Taking responsibility Review: Carine has captured the spirit of "taking responsibility" for one's life moments. Instead of simply surviving coming of age, divorce, loss of a loved one or becoming a woman. Carine shows the wonder and power the moment's posses. She maintains a sage's wisdom as she unfolds one unique ceremony after another to celebrate what most of take for granted. Great read!!! You will never look at your life the same again.
Rating: Summary: Every Day Life Made Significant Review: Ceremonies for Real Life is one of those books that you end up carrying with you wherever you move to in life.
It helps you turn every day life events into spiritual occasions that are infused with personal meaning because you lead the ceremonies yourself. Through this book you realize that life is about an alignment with the universe and taking an active part in it. And somehow it not only makes things better, but it also makes you feel you play a role in your own destiny. I recommend it whole-heartedly.
Rating: Summary: Finding a Sacred Space Review: From the moment I opened up CEREMONIES FOR REAL LIFE by Carine Fabius, I knew that I had stumbled upon something that would be a source of great comfort and peace to me for a long time. Carine Fabius has managed to acknowledge with gentle guidance and grace, the events in our lives that drive us to look more deeply into ourselves. In order to connect ourselves meaningfully to these phases in our lives, Carine gives us with loving attention, practical, easy and creative ways to honor the sacred, through ceremonies and rituals. Through her extensive knowledge and reasearch, she gives us a step-by-step guide to creating our own personal ceremonies with herbs, essential oils, sacred objects and wisdom. She shows us how Ceremonies can be transfromative experiences for the joys and pains in our lives, and how to find our own path into peace.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: I order Ceremonies for Real Life for a friend's birthday. We had such a terrific time that everyone at the ceremony went out and bought the book.
Rating: Summary: Ceremonies that rock Review: This is a cool little book that can really bring some tranquility into your life. If you're a guy, don't be put off by that flickering and, no doubt scented candle on the cover. It's not like you're going to be performing these ceremonies in the garage as you're tearing down your Mustang engine. Do them at home with someone you love... your soul will thank you. Or maybe you do yoga? OK, so if you can handle downward facing dog, you'll love Ceremonies for Real Life.
Of course it doesn't say you CAN'T do them in the garage.
Rating: Summary: Cermonies For Real Life Review: This is a great little book. Ms. Fabius' book offers one a script to draw from in the creation of ceremonies to celebrate various milestones in life with friends and families. You can return to it again and again for inspiration to prepare things to say to celebrate events throughout a life time. I have given her book to several of my friends in various locations around the world as a gift. I like to give gifts to people that will have lasting meaning and this book is one of those gifts.
