Rating: Summary: Before a Bad Goodbye Review: I'm a therapist who does a lot of couples counseling. This is the best book I've read on understanding and healing your relationships. I wish every client and couple struggling with their relationship would read this! It offers a Christian perspective from a caring, yet straight-forward approach. If you're in doubt about your relationship, please read this!
Rating: Summary: Emotional, Scary, and Inspiring Review: This book was able to help me understand not only what we both have done "wrong" in our marriage, but also the emotions these actions have created in us. Timothy Clinton gave me more insight on my wife then she could herself. Although this book deals with tough issues, I found it inspiring. When you feel hopeless and powerless, it helps you realize you are not alone in this world. I learned that our issues are not unique to our marriage, but problems that every couple goes through. The difference is how we react to these problems, and this book gives a good guideline on how to react constructively. If I could pick one thing for my wife to do to renew hope and interest in our marriage, I would chose for her to read this book.
Rating: Summary: Replace a Bad Goodbye with Rekindled Love Review: Tim Clinton's book "Before a Bad Goodbye" is easy to read, is full of stories, practical advice, and most importantly hope. The first part of the book explains how you got to where you are in your marriage (you will think he is writing about YOU) and the second half of the book is how to rekindle your love for one another, even when one spouse is doing most of the trying. Tim Clinton emphasizes that marriages are sacred and holy ground, but he provides hope so that you don't feel like you are "gutting it out" for the next 20 or 40 years, just because God says so. It will help you fall in love all over again, and with the person God has given you. God bless you, and never, never, give up, and never, never lose hope!
