Rating: Summary: Not At all Disapointed! Review: Being the second book in a series, I loved it (not to mention the first)! I love Dakota and Darvi! Darvi has so much pluck and spunk I have to wish she were real! Dakota is an exteremly charming gentlemen, who gains interest without knowing! Same goes for Darvi! My only disapointment is...it's fiction and I'm not in Darvi's place! [:oP
Rating: Summary: Trouble just seems to follow Darvi . . . . Review: But Dakota is always there to get her out of it. Darvi is eager to see her old friend, Merry, to tell of her new found faith in Christ. Dakota, a Texas Ranger, agrees to see her out to her friends home and then to the train station. On the way to the train they encounter many obstacles but the biggest is when Darvi is mistaken for a newspaper reporter and is abducted. Even after her abductors realize their mistake, one of them, Seth, decides to keep her and marry her. I thought this was an excellent book. With Dakota and Darvi both struggling to understand their new faith, they seemed like real people. I definitely would recommend this book, especially if you are a Lori Wick fan.
Rating: Summary: Somewhat Disappointed Review: I love Lori Wick. Her books were the first Christian romances I read. In fact "Every Little Think About You" was the first Christian romance I read. Her Rock Mountain series sealed my love for her books. However, I was somewhat disappointed in "A Texas Sky". Dakota's character seemed to miss the same spunk it had in the first book and Darvi's character was not as rounded as some of the other characters in other Lori Wick books. The book, I thought, was to be about how Dakota and Darvi came together, but only the last part of the book was dedicated to that. And I hated the ending, it just ended. I am looking forward to the third book but with hopes there will be more story to it. More to the capabilities I have come to love about a Lori Wick novel.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book and One of my favorite series! Review: I loved this book and the first book in the series, Every Little Thing About You. I have read many of Lori Wick's books and thought this one was every bit as good as the others I've read. I originally checked this book out from the library and read it. After reading it, I decided to purchase this whole series so that I can read it again whenever I want. I was quite surprised to read some of the negative reviews that are listed for this series. I guess it's just a matter of taste...lol
Rating: Summary: A Texas Sky Review: This book was entertaining but I did not enjoy it as much as I did the first book in this series. I don't think it is possible for Lori Wick to write a bad book. All of her books are so good. She appears to be as much of a hopeless romantic as I am. I look forward to all of her future books.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: This is my favorite of this series. Trouble just seems to find Darvi where ever she goes, and Dakota is always there to make things right again. An excellent Book!
Rating: Summary: Wishing for Something More... Review: We have been HUGE Lori Wick fans since reading "A Place Called Home." We eagerly anticipated the newest Lori Wick creation, and are disappointed with the outcome of "Texas Sky." The plot was beyond the reach of our imaginations! (And we have large imaginations.) The characters were completely unbelievable ...especially the "bad guys" who are so respectful and thoughtful. Darvi's character was sweet, but somewhat wishy-washy in attitude and actions. Dakota was a lively secondary character in Book 1 - but seems to lose his spark in this book. The intriguing, deep characterizations of "Sophie's Heart" and "Pretense" were missed. The action and romance of the Kenningston Chronicles would have been welcomed. We highly recommend any of Mrs. Wick's other books, and are sure fans will want read this book too...but, be prepared that it is not up to the typically high standard of writing previously released by Lori Wick. To new Lori Wick readers we HIGHLY recommend reading "The Hawk and the Jewel" or "Pretense" or "What Tomorrow Brings" - you will see excellent examples of the talented writing that Lori Wick is typical of. We are keeping our hopes up for the Book 3.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF MY FAVS!!! Review: Whoever didn't give this book a THUMBS UP was crazy. I loved it! I kinda cheated and started on this book before the first one, but it didn't say much about Slater or Liberty so I knew I wasn't in trouble. I would SO recommend this to ANY TEEN GIRL!!! Anyway, Dakota Rawlings has been shot five times. Knowing that the end has come, or thinking it has, he lives and turns is eye toward God, and becomes a good religious Texas Ranger. But, Brace, his boss, doesn't want Dakota back in his Ranger business until he has fully healed, in other words, six months. Dakota gets really bored, and decides to be the guide and escort of Darvi Wingate, Brace's niece. She wants to leave Austin and visit her friend in Stillwater. But, the pretty and sweet Darvi has a knack for followers, or trouble. She gets captured by some men by mistake even! Well, there's always sweet and handsome and protective Dakota, who does absolutely everything he can to keep Darvi saffe. Then they fall in love. This book kept my nose glued between the pages, and so you can imagine how hard it was to set it down for good. read
