Summary: Wonderful !
Review: Donna Green captures the enchantment and special memories of Christmas. The illustrations are colorful and unforgettable. There is space to write in your own family traditions and memories. Each page takes you to a different aspect of Christmas, inspiring you to document your families' experiences of the holiday season.

Summary: save me!
Review: I do not want my children reading stuff like this - sentimental to the point of banality.
Give me Cricket of the Hearth by Charles Dickens any day. That is something your could read to your children year after year and be proud you introduced them to it..........this however is nothing to be proud of!

Summary: Not useable for most people
Review: Yes, this book looks lovely. Illustrations are great. BUT, few will be able to really use this to collect their precious holiday memories because the author has made the book so specific to her own experiences. Every area for writing your own memories has very specific instructions (and many are repeated throughout the book). For example, there are instructions to record "A favorite recipe to make at Christmas time," "A favorite recipe from a friend," "Recipe for our family's favorite wintertime drink," "Favorite Cookie Recipe," "Our favorite family feast recipe," "A cherished holiday recipe," "Recipe for someone with a sweet tooth," -- you get the idea. It would have been better to have a couple of pages to record whatever cooking/recipe traditions you have without so many sections spread throughout the book. Other overly specific instructions include, "The ceremony I cherish most," "What my children never forget to do just before Christmas," (and the book throughout assumes you have more than one child, by the way!), "The first time I experienced snow," "Something I've never tried but would like to," "An embarrassing moment," "What a friend once taught me," "My favorite centerpiece." It would have been SO much better if the book just had lines throughout so you could record whatever memories you'd like to, without these specific (and often goofy) prompts. I regret spending the money on this book and am having a very hard time using it to record anything meaningful to our family.
