Rating: Summary: For the critical thinker with a truly open mind Review: If you refuse to believe in a sovereign God who reigns over the universe than how will you explain the awe-inspiring order that is evident throughout creation. Our infinitesimally small minds can't even begin to adequately comprehend the fullness of the one that created all things. But if you should be even so willing as to consider the obvious from the point of view of a Doctor and one that accepted what he was force-fed in our educational system, this book is for you.
Rating: Summary: . . . as a scientist, myself Review: This is a wonderful book. Not only does he have the perspective of a years-in-the-making and convinced evolutionist (he was one), he has both the credentials to back up his knowledge of evolution, and also has degrees from Biblical institutions. He knows both sides of the argument intimately, and one can tell as one reads his book. Having been raised as a Creationist (in a strong Christian home and theologically sound and strong church), I have never found it necessary to study the THEORY (religion -- go look at the definition of this word in the dictionary) of Evolution; it is becoming more clear to me that I need not. Why study a lie when I need to be better acquainted with the truth (the Bible)? This is a good point Dr. Martin makes in his cover page . . . "If you have time to read this book but have not read your Bible today, then you do not have time to read this book." It is, however, a wonderful suppliment to the truth of the Holy Bible. "The Evolution of a Creationist" (well, and the Bible, of course) is accurate both from a scientific level and a theological level, two that are not often mixed correctly due to the author's lack of knowledge in one arena or the other. What a wonderful job God has done through Dr. Martin!
