Summary: A quick and fun read about the Bible.
Review: Bruce and Stan keep things rolling along with their lighthearted approach to Bible study. Their book is compact - easy to hold and read or throw into a backpack without it weighing a ton. It really has a way of bringing the important points together in as short a way as possible (includes the entire Bible in an overview to be read in under 25 minutes). Also includes a handy list of concordances like where to find info on "friendship" or "disappointment" within the Bible.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: I was given this book by a Christian friend who knew I was curious about the Word and needed the right information. The authors --Bruce and Stan-- really have a knack for writing about the Bible in an interesting yet simple way. I know I benefitted immensely from this nifty handbook! It gives you a brief overview of each individual book, plus recommended Scripture and other sources for any subject you may be curious about. While these guys definitely cling to old beliefs (stating that Moses wrote the Torah, for example), they still make some great points and add some clean humor. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who was curious about the Bible or needs a review.

Summary: Too Simple
Review: Perhaps by the time I got to this particular book, it was already a bit beneath me. Still, it seemed to me that the arguments presented were simplistic. For example, the "discussion" with Paul and law betrayed a distinct anti-legalistic bias, and did so in what totally ignored the finer (and not so fine) points of what is in reality a highly complex debate. Nevertheless, I suppose it would have some benefit for those starting out in the Biblical studies field, though my more liberal colleagues would probably disagree.

Summary: Lots of information the easy way
Review: Readers feel like Bruce and Stan are talking to them. Great interpertations of what the Bible tells us. Time -lines are most helpful. I read this book with my hi-lighter in hand. So much information presented in clear language that was great fun to read. Ordered more of their stuff immediately.
