Summary: Great Gift for New Believers
Review: In 1970 and in 1991, the hearing impared were the target audience for both the International Children's Bible (ICB) and the New Century Version (NCV), respectively. This was done by simple language that could easily be signed in American Sign Language (ASL). The result of simplifying the language to ASL specifications was that it eliminated long and complicated words and sentence structures. The meaning of the text was preserved. This is great for new believers, who may find other versions (like the KJV or NASV) too complicated with outdated English. Without relevant speach in any book (including the Bible), it is easy to quickly stop reading or studying. That is why I have given the NCV to new Christians, in the hope that they will continue studying in the Word. While the NCV is no substitute for a hard translation (KJV, NIV, or NLT) for long time believers who are into hard core study and argument of doctorine, this gives the basics in easy to understand language. I give two thumbs up for the correct usage of this version.

Review: The Answer is a great Bible for new believers and seekers. It has a really thorough topical index that gives people a guide to find answers to life's toughest questions-- but it shows people how to go back to the Bible and find the answers. I've given it to several people and they like it because they actually understand how the Bible applies to them. Also, the New Century Version is a really easy to read translation so no big words that people don't understand. I'd recommend it for bedside devotions and gifts.

Review: The Answer is just that - an answer for life's tough questions. This Bible helps those who are searching to find the answers they've been looking for. From the explanation of what the Bible is and how it's set up to the topical index of commonly asked questions, this Bible really has it all. The New Century Version is always modern and although it is easy enough for a child to understand, even the most serious scholar will find what he or she is looking for within these pages. I highly recommend this Bible for anyone looking to find what the Bible and life are really all about. This is proof that the Bible is still the answer for our life today.
