All The Women Of The Bible

Review: I saw this book in the store and the title got my attention, as I am always looking for more material on women in the Bible. However, as I sat down to read through it, I realized that the author -- and we don't know if it's a male or female -- writes with a punishing view. In the story of Jepthah's Daughter, for instance, the daughter is portrayed as quietly accepting her fate, and she is upheld for that decision. In the story of the Concubine in Judges, the re-telling is written in such a way as to suggest that if she had listened to her mother and not complained about her husband, she would not have been raped, murdered and dis-membered.
This is a dangerous book for anyone with a serious bent to study the Bible; it is especially dangerous to our daughters.
