Summary: A TAN book...Saint Catherine of Siena
Review: I picked this book because it is a TAN book. Originally published in 1941 as Saints in the Sky: The Story of Saint Catherine of Siena for Children. If this title was still used, I would not have made the purchase, because I was not looking for a child's story book. As such this book is an excellant book for reading to children. As an adult, I did enjoy this Reader's Digest version of her life. In reading, I did find errors or what I believe to be errors. Page ten, the paragraph that starts with: And then an idea...the word stood is spelled stook. On page fifty-seven, Pope Gregory states he has heard of the many miracles worked by St. Catherine, but the book did not really mention these many mircles. When I first read Chapter One I took notice of the author having St. Catherine picking flowers as she walked. Seems to be innocent, yet this act may be considered stealing. Perhaps those flowers behind the church are OK with God. I rated this book average and despite the flaws I would give it high consideration for a story to read to children. If you are into looking for children's books then there are eleven more written by this same author.

Review: Saint Catherine of Siena wanted too be a hermiet at the age of six! This book is a book you should read before reading Saint Rose. I,ve read both and they should be bought together.
