Rating: Summary: Door in the Dragon's Throat Review: An amazing adventure that keeps on the edge of your bed/seat. It is about how the power of God is more powerful than anything else. It is a Christian Fiction. It is about how a door, has been sealed for centuries. Many Expiditions have been made but all have been either scared off or failed but worst of all, never came out. Dr. Cooper and his children are taken there. They are not scared of what evil lurks within the Dragon's Throat. President Al Dallam wants the treasure behind but, the siesmic-meter says that the space behind the door goes on forever. Is there really treasure behind there? If not, what is? You have to read this book, it is the most AMAZING I have EVER read.
Rating: Summary: EXCITING Review: I realy enjoyed reading this book and all of the other Frank E. Peretti books I have read.I usualy don't realy care for reading books but this book was so exciting that the only reason I put it down was because my mom asked me to clean my room.
Rating: Summary: Another killer by Frank Peretti Review: If you like edge-of-your-seat, can't-put-it-down writing than this book is most definetely for you. Ilove Frank Peretti's books, Ihave read them all except for Prophet and Tilly. If you like the first one you will also like the other 6! If you haven't read them, do so as soon as possible!
Rating: Summary: Door in the Dragon's Throat Review: It's Frank Peretti's brilliant novel writing skills...condensed! It's a super-cool family of archeologists--minus a mother--who investigate phenomena in the spirit of Indiana Jones, only with a Christian perspective. The Door in the Dragon's Throat introduces us to our heroes, as they travel to the deserts of Nepal to investigate the mysterious Door that causes so much fear and panic. Their Christian beliefs are challenged, their lives threatened, and their strength tested before the books end. And you won't believe the ending. It's...out of this world. ;) It's an action-packed mini-novel for kids, and even grown-ups, if they are so inclined. There's action, suspense, intrigue, and some scary stuff too! And you gotta love Dr. Coopers .357! Here's a little parental warning though, in case you are wondering what kind of stuff might be inappropriate for younger kiddos. The group come across some skeletons of past searchers, and there is a VERY intense scene at the end...but I read them when I was only 10, and it didn't give me any nightmares. Excellent novels, with great Christian morals packed in too. Forget Harrison Ford! Grab a copy of...The Door in the Dragon's Throat!!
Rating: Summary: Hit Its Mark Review: My boys enjoyed hearing this story read aloud to them. It is tense with suspense that is combined with a realistic adventure. Although the ending felt slightly less satisfying than the rest of the book, Peretti was able to give biblical concepts and a great story for the 9-14 age group. This book as a whole hit its mark in the lives of my boys.
Rating: Summary: Stealth religion Review: My son (8 years old) was given this book by a relative who thought it was a good adventure story. We started reading and on page 10 the stealth religious messages started to appear -- couched in what I can only describe as an irritating mealy-mouthed style. Mr. Peretti's story concept is good but there's a shallowness to the characters and the plot that I suspect comes from Mr. Peretti's desire to push a religious agenda into the story. This kind of book should make its agenda clear on the cover or in the introduction. To quote a rather more famous reviewer than I: "This is not a book that should be tossed aside lightly. It should be hurled with great force."
Rating: Summary: The Door in the Dragon's Throat Review: This is the best book that I have ever read. The enthralment and the mystery will keep you that you don't want to put it down. The author has a vivid immagination but yet the moral of the story is so real that you will make sure that you can follow God in the direction that he wants. To me there should not be an age limit on this book young adults and the older one will love it just the same. I hope that Mr. Peretti never stops writing books with the adventures of the Cooper Kids. Richard I am 13 and would recommend this 150% to all.....
Rating: Summary: This book ISN'T just for children!!! Review: When I sat down to read this book, I didn't quite know what to expect. I had read Mr. Perettis' larger novels (The Darkness Series, Prophet, Tilly, and The Oath). I thought to myself, "Well, this is just a kids book, something to pass the time away". Boy was I wrong. This book 'blessed my socks off'. It was like watching a saved Indiana Jones. This book set the stage for the entire Cooper Kids Adventure Series (of which I am a dedicated fan, thanks to this opening story). Mr. Peretti stayed true to his writing stlye and I enjoyed the story line from beginning to end. Bravo for Mr. Peretti taking time out to write for kids and still reach adults at the same time.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Series Review: When I was younger I read the first four books in this series. I had no idea that religious fiction could be so good. Now after reading several of his other works, Peretti has become my favorite author. As for the guy who claims "hidden agendas," Peretti is a well known RELIGIOUS writer. I also believe that on the back of the book it mentions the characters spiritual beliefs. I didn't find the characters shallow, but strong in heart. Every book was suspensful and hard to put down.
