Summary: Nothing Is Impossible
Review: 'Breaking the Death Habit' is a revolutionary book that contains the secret to everlasting life in the physical realm. I consider every word to be true, as do the many friends to whom I sent a copy. All responded with a 'thank you' note, the most passionate being from devoted believers such as Buddy Ebsen, Art Carney, Milton Berle, Charles Bronson, Gregory Peck and Anthony Quinn. Need I say more?

Summary: Not for everyone
Review: As a Spiritual Atheist, I agreed with Mr. Orr's opinion that religion is what has taught human beings that they must age and die (without the fear of death and eternal torment, what is the need for salvation?) and his observation that churches are full of people who are praying but are still getting sick and dying, but that is as much as I enjoyed about this book. Mr. Orr has taken Christianity and removed the things he doesn't like about it and compounded upon the things he does like, and this is his synopsis. Since I believe Christianity is another religious myth like the many others that have come before it, I found his insistence that one must invoke the Christian God's name daily as part of one path to immortality as silly and a bit hypocritical. If you are a Christian with an open mind, then you might enjoy this book. Otherwise, I don't recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Revolutionary perspective
Review: First discovering this book years ago I purchased a dozen copies and gave them to friends. Not many of these friends actually found that the book spoke to them. Some even dropped me from their list of desirables. How audacious they said, "you must be afraid of dying"! This is not surprising as the idea of physical immortality appeals to very few people. Yet nothing could be further from the truth.
The more I have investigated the subject and applied the principles that Leonard speaks of, the more I become alive and vital, and the more effortless is the enjoyment of this marvelous breathing experience we call "existing as human". This book then is one to read and return to, not for it's literary brilliance as one reviewer complained, but because it creates a new invaluable perspective of our possilities. As the Nobel prize winning poet, Theodore Rhedke (spelling?) says, "What we need are more people who specialize in the impossible." After reading this you may want to explore, Sondra Ray, Robert Coon, Analee Skarin, SATPREM'S The Mind of the Cells, and go to the website, www.livingtolive.com to mention only a few other sources of inspiration.
By the way, I saw Leonard in January 2004 and he looks ageless, relaxed and is full of fun and laughter. Perhaps these principles when applied bear delicious fruit!
