Rating: Summary: A Rich Delightful Sweetness Review: I remember driving home late one night and was listening to a radio station when the announcer started reading something. The story caught my attention and as he read it I wanted to hear more and more. The story was something similar to what I had experienced in my life and it just caught me by surprise. When he announced where he read this short story from I remember quickly jotting down the title of the book, but I knew I would remember being a true chocolate lover. I could not wait to read more. Each story was special in its own way. I promised a couple of my girlfriends I would lend them my book to borrow and read..instead I just purchased them as gifts (I could not part with mine). A basket full of some of my baked goods along with the book, it has been a hit as the perfect gift for many of my friends to enjoy. I do bake something with "chocolate" of course!
Rating: Summary: Not as good as I hoped. Review: I was expecting touching stories of the type of the "chicken soup" series. This one just wasn't emotionally moving or really all that inspiring. Most of the stories are read-able, but lack heart. Don't mistake it for Christian reading, either. In one of these "chocolates" they depict God in a manner that I didn't agree with, which did honestly earn them a lower score on the review. I appreciate the effort that was put into the book and the writer relaying the stories did use good grammer in her writing. The stories were just dry.
Rating: Summary: Celebrating Gratitude! Review: Kay Allenbaugh has collected a number of inspiring stories from a variety of authors, motivational speakers, spiritual leaders, business women and many others. They make up the 77 heartwarming stories to help us all the celebrate the good things in life. One story tells of a two-and-a-half pound baby who was born into the world too soon. The story tells of how a busy doctor made house calls and never charged anything for coming by and helping the mother out by washing dishes, bringing over dinner, etc. It shows that their is still kindness in the world. The story only takes about a few minutes to read, but the message is eternal. If you enjoy these types of stories, you might also enjoy: A Christmas Dozen. It is a book of wonderful stories which also speak out for love and how we as humans can make the world a better place.
