Summary: A handy guide for both prayers and places
Review: Although my wife and I have been unable to travel to Europe, We found the book to be both interesting and informative. Each shrine listed in the book described why one should attend (ie. Marian apparition, Eucharistic miracle, the relics of a saint, etc.) I think the addresses of points of contact will make planning a trip and attending a shrine much easier. The traditional Catholic prayers were contained at the end of each section useful for strip map. On the down side, there was very little Latin, the official language of the church. Also the pilgramidge from Paris to the Chartes Cathedral for the restoration of the Tridentine Mass was not mentioned either. (Last year it was attended by about 30,000 mostly young people). I have given one copy of this book to my brother and another to my parents. I wish the author would write a book on the shrines and pilgramidges of North America.

Review: I found Catholic Shrines of Western Europe to be a great help in planning my pilgrimage. If I hadn't read this book, I might of missed some really wonderful sites. I would recommend this book to any pilgrim.

Summary: A must-have for Catholics travelling in Europe!
Review: I recently spent a semester studying abroad in Europe, and Kevin Wright's book was the perfect guidebook to help me plan my trips to different pilgrimmage sites. In addition, it informed me of many shrines that I didn't even know existed! Not only does it have a large number of shrines, but easy-to-follow directions to get you there, places to stay, and the "must-see"s at each shrine. I can honestly say that this book helped me to grow in my faith, by making it easy for me to visit, and pray at, some the most holy places in Europe. Thanks, Kevin!!

Summary: Excellent Book for a Semester in Europe
Review: I spent two semesters in Europe and this book was immensely helpful in deciding which pilgrimage sights to go to and then finding them! I love the little maps that are shown for the various shrines. At Franciscan University's campus in Austria, this book in particular is very popular, because it tells about the history of the place and how to find it. If you know a Catholic who is going to Europe and wants to visit shrines, then I highly recommend this book.

Review: I strongly recommend this book to anyone who plans on going for a pilgrimage to Western Europe. It contains a wealth of information to the well-known shrines and even to the ones you've not even heard of before. The prayers included in this book will greatly help one's pilgrimage be a grace and faith-filled one. This book likewise will be very helpful even to pilgrims who can not make the actual trip. I was at the different shrines in Europe not too long ago and I wish I had this book at at that time. Now that I have the book and opportunity is offering itself again, I am sure it will be very helpful. Kudos to you Kevin. Please write some more books similar to this, particularly on your pilgrimages to North America. It will surely be as helpful as THE CATHOLIC SHRINES IN WESTERN EUROPE.
