Rating: Summary: Boy Meets Girl Review: This is an excellent book! I read through it, the same day I got it and I plan on reading it over again :) It is very easy to read, very straight forward. This book complements the first book (I Kissed Dating Goodbye) by showing you tangible means of applying what you learn in the first book... Josh has the same passion as the first book.I would recommend this book to ALL singles young, old, divorced and widowed. Actually the lady that I live with is married and she read the book and just wept... this book has reminded her of God's provision, incomparable grace, unmatchable forgiveness and undying love for us... So married folks, don't be turned off-- this is worth reading! God has used this book as a means of grace for me. By God's Spirit this book has served to renew my mind and give me tremendous hope! Blessings people as you read this! Hope it will challenge you and provoke you!
Rating: Summary: Gave me a whole new outlook on dating!! Review: I've been a Christian all my life. I'm 18 and I attend a private, Christian high school. It is a boarding school. All through high school I had bad relationships. I felt that I needed to go out with a person to see if they were the one. Many of the relationships at my school end badly because you spend all of your time with this person. I've passed this book around to all of my class. It hits so close to home! My views on dating and relationships have changed drastically. It is so comforting to see God's Word prevelent in everything that you do!! It is so comforting knowing that no matter how big my mistakes were in the past, I am forgiven.
Rating: Summary: If You Liked IKDG ... Review: Just when you thought that Joshua Harris couldn't get any more radical, guess what. He did. While his first book, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, called Christian singles to give up the dating scene in search of something better, this new book encourages an even more radical commitment to Christ. Now, it's not just dating. Harris reminds us that God wants the whole package of our romantic lives. And after all, He is the ultimate romantic. Boy Meets Girl is an outstanding addition to Christian literature for searching singles. Consider also the writings of Eric and Leslie Ludy and Elisabeth Elliot.
Rating: Summary: Not just about dating, this book will deal with your heart Review: I can not tell you how much I enjoyed this book. Sound doctrin and continualy drawing the hearts of those who read it towards God's grace and the cross 'Boy Meets Girl' is not just about dating. It deals with heart issues that play a role in how you respond to relationships, heart issues such as purity, trusting in God, understanding the gosple and many more. You may think that reading this book will help you with relationships, but the Bible bassed doctrin in it will overflow into every part of your life.
Rating: Summary: An excellent book that always points to God Review: Boy Meets Girl is a great book that always points to God as our ultimate source for guidance. The author doesn't try to undermine the gift of God's grace by establishing rules for readers to try to attain, rather, he affirms Christ's supremacy in our lives at all times. Joshua Harris will challenge you, no matter where you are in your walk. I recommend this book as a tool for any believer who is looking towards marriage.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book! Review: Joshua Harris does a wonderful job writing this book. I didnt always agree with his views but every time I read I kissed dating good bye God showed me something new. In his new book Boy Mets Girl, Im so encourged as I read it! God has greatley blessed Josh to write such wonderful books. I wish I could personal thank Josh for shareing so much and threw God touching my life and having my focus more on Him. This book doesnt try and convince you to courtship, its explains it, and tells stories of it and basically, just live for and like God. I recommend this book to married, single or dating people. THANKS FOR A WOUNDERFUL BOOK!
Rating: Summary: This is a fantastic book! Review: "Boy Meets Girl" is the perfect finish to "IKDG". "IKDG" focused on having a heart for God's will and a heart to serve others, and this book emphasizes that even more. Josh shows us again that it's not about "rules" or legalism, it's about honoring God and putting the other person first. I loved every chapter, and I really liked the way Joshua and Shannon clarified that it isn't about the terms (dating or courtship) as much as the heart. This book answered a lot of questions I had, and it was very encouraging to read some true stories of people who waited for God's best!
Rating: Summary: This book rocks! Review: I highly recommend this book! As a 32 year woman who has a "past" much like Joshua's wife, and I family who is not born again, I was really intriuged at the advice and it warmed my heart how they dealt with all things. This goes deeper than I Kissed Dating Goodbye and it is a must read, even if you are single and in your 30s like me.
Rating: Summary: You thought "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" was bad enough!! Review: This book is worse. The book is written in the defense mechanism mode to defend his last book which unfortunately in many churches took one man's ideology and turned it into the legalistic "only way" theology of all. This may have worked for the harrises but it is not the "official Christian perspective" of dating for everyone.
Rating: Summary: A biblical followup to a runaway best seller Review: It should come as no surprise to those who have read Joshua Harris' first book, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, that Boy Meets Girl would be filled with sound, biblical advice and stories that can relate to life. Joshua Harris has once again delivered a book on a topic sorely needed by the Christian singles of this world. As an 18 year old who had been a Christian for two months, I purchased IKDG, unsure of where it would lead me. I knew my way of doing things was about to be challenged, but I didn't realize just how much. As I dove into the book, I was convicted in so many ways. God used this to really shape me and my understanding of how He wants me to be in relation to this important area of my life. As someone who has read MANY of these Christian relationship books, I can tell you that there are some good ones out there, but IKDG definitely had the biggest impact on me. However, as I continued to pray over the biblical truths that Harris focused on and how they pertained to my individual life, I (along with thousands others) had to wonder one thing - What about when I *do* find someone who I'd like to pursue a relationship with? Then what? The answer has arrived. Joshua Harris uses Boy Meets Girl to express how God has shown him that it is the state of our heart that matters most, and not legalistic boundaries. Though the book just arrived in my mailbox yesterday, I have torn right through it and been pouring over the scripture referenced that addresses so many pertinent issues. If you loved IKDG, get ready for Boy Meets Girl. Harris has so beautifully expressed the way that God has worked in his life and heart, and this manifestation is definitely something that our generation can use.
