Rating: Summary: dreaming as a spiritual path Review: Robert doesn't as much offer new techniques for Lucid Dreaming (what he calls conscious dreaming) as he delves the reader into the dream world. He persues dreaming as more of a spiritual path than just a matter of a tool for self improvement.
Rating: Summary: Yes, it's "real magic", but you can do it too! Review: Robert Moss blends intense enthusiasm with copious helpful details & examples in this very readable entertaining book, which will show you how to remember your dreams, understand them, share them with others, & teach others around you to do the same. I've worked with Robert personally for a couple of years now, & he's even better in person, a natural orator, teacher, & storyteller, with a wealth of knowledge he is just itching to share. Whether you have been working with your dreams for years or are interested in getting started, you will find invaluable helpful information here. Reading this book is to embark on a great adventure: enjoy!
Rating: Summary: This Book is Amazing Review: Robert Moss certainly knows how to dream- he talks about Aboriginal, Celtic and Native American shamanic and dreaming practices, as well as his own dreams and the dreams of memebers of his Active Dreaming workshops, and explains how the average person can use dreams to make the most of their everyday life. He shows why dreaming is so important, how to make it a fun and enjoyable experience, and gives tips on exploring the dreams and symbols of your dreams (note: Moss does not take symbols on a dry Freudian level- according to Moss, symbols may have different meanings for different dreamers, and some symbols are transpersonal). His discussion of shamanic dreaming goes far beyond any book I've read before (except, possibly, "Dreamgates", another book by Moss.) This is one book I could not put down. There is one slight weakness in this superb book (if you want to call it a weakness)- he doesn't fully explain the methods of shifting consciousness into the dream state. Complete beginners might even be wondering exactly what it means to "shift consciousness". However, this is information you can find in nearly any other dream or astral projection book (as well as slews of internet sites), and Moss opts to go a step further- by showing the reader that the dream world is a real world, full of real characters and real things- perhaps more real than physical reality.
Rating: Summary: Roadmap to Dreaming Review: Robert Moss has a way of bringing the magic and mystery of dreaming to a practical level of understanding, giving the dreamer tools for a clear path of action. The steps on catching your dreams and the nine keys to dreaming are basic, concise and refreshingly free of psycobabble. The idea that dreaming is like personal radar into the future is a thrilling possibility! I found the section on Dreaming with the Departed to be particularly helpful and reassuring since those were the dreams I remembered most vividly. We all dream yet the tendancy to dismiss dreams because we don't understand or have time to ponder them is the common reaction. Robert Moss gives the reader a different perspective on using dreaming to empower and enhance life in a way that can be incorporated into the busiest schedule. Conscious Dreaming does not offer a dream dictionary. What it does offer is a roadmap to dreaming made easy with techniques and stories inviting the reader to become an active participant in their own dreams.
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Starting Point Review: Robert Moss may be the most eloquent and passionate writer on the subject of dreams that we have on planet Earth. His work inspired me to explore related books, especially concerning precognitive dreaming. One I found particularly provocative, and which quotes Moss extensively, is LUCKY YOU! by Randall Fitzgerald. He has a chapter on precognitive dreams and how to induce them. His book connects all the dots, with both inspiring anecdotes and scientific evidence, showing how streaks of luck and good fortune in our life can be manifested using incubated dreams, practices to sharpen intuition, and paying attention to certain patterns of synchronicities. Fitzgerald was undoubtedly inspired by Moss to take his work a few steps deeper. Highly recommended!
Rating: Summary: Robert Moss engages the dream experience as reality Review: Robert Moss's approach to dreaming is so grounded and accessible. He doesn't write about dreaming "as if" it was a real experience but as a real experience. I love his way of putting a question to the world and expecting to get an answer, either in dreams or in waking life. He constantly looks for synchronicity between his waking and dreaming lives. He writes with enthusiasm as much for his own dreams as for those of others. I had the privilege of attending a lecture of his in May 2002 and he is even more impressive in person! A fantastic book by a true living guide to the dream world.

Rating: Summary: A Pathway To Using Your Dreams Review: Robert Moss's guided tour of how to use your dreams to guide you throughout your life is a must read for anyone exploring the dream world. Robert's guidance and insights into reaching inside a dream and extracting it's elements is invaluable. From the complete novice to the experienced dream traveler there is knowledge to gained from reading this book. As you are guided along the pathways to dreaming and the use of your dreams you will become accomplished in traveling in your own and other's dreamscapes since the book details actual dreams and events stemming from dreams that have changed individuals lives forever. The book is an easy, entertaining read in addition to being an excellent guide to the use of dreaming in waking reality. An absolute "must read" for anyone who has ever had a dream and wondered at it's meaning.
Rating: Summary: The dream world is the real world Review: The dreamworld is a real world, perhaps more real than much of waking life. One of the core techniques of my approach is dream reentry: learning to go back inside the dreamscape to clarify a message, resolve unfinished business, or dialogue with a dream character who may turn out to be a spiritual guide. Dream reentry is the best way to deal with nightmares, which are actually unfinished dreams; you got so scared you had to wake up. Another of my basic techniques is the reality check. We dream future events all the time. Whether your remembered dream is bizarre or humdrum, before you do anything else you should check out the possibility that it will be enacted in waking life. Once you have realized that you can dream the future, you can learn to scout forward in conscious dream states, rehearse for challenges that lie round the corner - and change the future if you don't like it. We need to take dreams more literally and the events of waking life more symbolically. We are surrounded by symbols in everyday life that will speak to us in the manner of dreams if we pay attention. So my book CONSCIOUS DREAMING involves a whole spectrum of dreaming: becoming more conscious of the gifts of your night dreams, navigating your dreams in a conscious state, embarking on conscious dream journeys to the sources of healing, insight and creativity, having fun in the twilight zone between waking and sleeping, and doing dreamwork with the symbols and synchronicities of everyday life. When you have mastered these techniques, you'll be ready for the deeper adventure of my DREAMGATES book and audiotapes, which offer a flight manual for the most rewarding of all forms of travel: the journey to inner and other worlds. May your best dreams come true - and may you remember them!
Rating: Summary: Worthless Review: This book basically tells you what all the other lucid dreaming books tell you. Start keeping a dream journal using keywords to capture the whole in bits and pieces and fill them out later so you remember them completely, and there you have his entire book with a bunch of his personal experiences. All he does is go on and on with his own dreams and how they've helped him and ect.. Don't waste your money.
