Summary: Great book! All Mormons need to read it, but won't
Review: This is a great book, Wood backs up all his info with cold, hard facts and explanations. Mormonism would be ok as some kind of "family club" rather than all the deceit about this religion coming from God when it is so obvious that the God of the Bible has nothing to do with this religious organization. Its very sad, the multitude of people that Satan has tricked with this enticing religion and most Mormons don't even care to investigate the history ( not the made-up "official" church history ) but the real history and foundation of this church as well as the character and practices of Joseph Smith Jr. I encourage anyone who is even thinking about the LDS church to read this book NOW!

Summary: A long rant
Review: This is a no win situation. LDS will say that this book is untruthful, and non-mormons say it is the book of truth. Until you have actually visited the Mormon church and have experienced for yourself the true teachings, I don't think you can really make an opinion based on someone else's opinion of what is truth and what isn't. Same with Catholic or any other religion out there. Make your opinion based on your own true experiences, not someone else's. I think this is a good book to read in the sense that it makes YOU decide for yourself what is true and what is not. Provided you actually go out there and experience it. Not just read it and toss it away.

Summary: Must-read for EVERY American/World Inhabitant
Review: This is probably the best book I've read on Mormonism. And it is THE book that gave me the noesis to be able to finally break free and leave the church. The double-bind that restrains and prevents/prohibits you from fully leaving is so all-encompassing, involving every aspect of your life, it was literal freedom for me to see what I knew presented in a forum that plainly spoke the truth that had been so surreptitious within the mormon church.

Having been a member, I know the truthfulness of Dr. Wood's book, and now being a non-member, I understand the power of the Mormon Church's deception.

As a member, I knew that there were "weird" things going on, such as the "alternate government" that was set up ostensibly for when the "world came to an end," so it didn't surprise me to learn it was actually set up to take over the government. And I had been "advised" (translate: threatened) of the blood atonement and what their "Angels" could do, so Dr. Wood's words rang so true to me.

Dr. Wood not only presents it in an easy to read and understand manner, but backs it up with proof from the Church's own history.

To Mormons: the book is written to inform, not belittle or threaten. It will reinforce what you already know, and open the "secrets" even more.

To Non-mormons: you need to know what these wolves in sheep's clothing are planning. Some of it sounds incredible.....it's reality.

I was especially impressed that Dr. Wood was NOT a member of the church, so held no rancor, rather, he was approached by missionaries and set out to 'prove' their assertions, either negatively or positively. He started out with no pre-agenda.
