Rating: Summary: A Rare Blend of Suspense and Horror in a Christian Worldview Review: Breaking all the traditional molds which is today called Christian fiction, Gansky has written a truly gripping novel that combines WWII submarines, occult archeology and Christian theology. He handles the transition between the two story lines very well, bouncing us back and forth between the doomed sub's final Atlantic voyage and the Navy's modern-day attempts to discover how it washed up on a California shore 50 years later. There are some memorable characters such as J. D. Stanton, the main protagonist and his assistant who struggles with her fears as well as the captain of the submarine. This is a good book for those who think Christian-based fiction is often too syrupy or too soft for general audiences.
Rating: Summary: It Might Be On the Unrealistic Side Review: But that's how mystery should be written. Fear is a wonderful weapon the enemy uses. Look how well he used it against Lt.Donna Wilcox and we Christians, with great success. I had a hard time putting the book down once all heck broke loose. The ending seemed a little "out there", but what the hey, it still was a good book to read.

Rating: Summary: Starts hot but becomes predictable Review: Gansky starts this story out well. Suspense builds, and the main characters draw me in. The parallel events of today and 1943 add to the drama and interest. However, by the middle of the book I had already guessed correctly how the story would end. Additionally, I kept waiting for the author to do something with the female lieutenant who could see what the others could not. It never happened. She just remained frightened and frustrated until her climatic scene at the end. The writing is crisp, and the characters and storyline offer much potential. Ultimately, however, this possessed ship coasted to the finish line.

Rating: Summary: The first one Review: I didn't have a book to read-this is a bad thing-I bought this book because of the cover, I love submarines. I got it in the mail a few days later and then read the back. A Babtist Pastor wrote it hmmmm. I thought well, I bought it and will give it a try. WOW I thought the book was great! since after reading this book I have read many of his books and would buy more by the authors name only Thanks for the sleepless nights.

Rating: Summary: Gansky's Gift Review: I have this habit of buying a book for a friend or family member, then opening to the first page and getting hooked. That was Gansky's gift to me. His writing was tight, pulling me along into the questions regarding the mysterious submarine. He added a Christian message without letting it overwhelm the plot. The characters were well-drawn, though not with much depth. I'll look forward to learning more about them in upcoming books.

Rating: Summary: Very positive - a "couldn't put it down". Review: I haven't read anything by this author before, but he's on my "list" now. This was a very engaging story. Gansky has an excellent command of language and a fascinating imagination.
