Rating: Summary: I loved Master Fwap. Thank you for telling your story! Review: This is a wonderful tale of a young American's encounters with a Tibetan Buddhist monk. Through the author's eloquent writing I wished I was on those Himalayan peaks. This book reminded me that there is magic! I recommend it to all of my friends who are interested in the mystical. (It's also a subtle but poignant reminder of China's activities in Tibet.
Rating: Summary: Most amazing book ever Review: Surfing the Himalayas is a wonderful and true book that is spreading the dharma to thousands of people in several countries.
I think that is disappointing that so many people refuse to
see the beauty of the book due to some false picture that has been
painted of Dr. Lenz. Isn't it interesting that all the people
who wrote poorly of him and call him a vicious cult leader do
not leave e-mail addresses. And in that article, that they say
a "handful of followers" who have left, finding fault in Dr.
Lenz, when he has taught several thousand over the course of
his career? What does that say?
I am a "follower" of Dr. Lenz, and I make a 6-figure salary. If I had not met him, I undoubtedly would be working some minimum wage job, trying to figure out what to do with the
rest of my life. The amount of money I pay him is a minute
portion of my salary. He gave me hope, direction and a sense of
self-respect. That alone is worth my tuition ten-fold.
And for the record, I love my parents and the rest of my family.
I talk to both my parents at least once a week and see them as much as possible. How many of you can make the same claim?
Rating: Summary: This Book Has Legs! Review: I must tell this story. I had to buy three copies of this book before I could finish it! Either the cover is just too good to pass up, or the text is such an easy read - I don't know WHAT it is, but I've had my first three copies lifted (as in taken, stolen, borrowed (?), whatever) before I could finish reading it!
I tend to think that's an odd sort of compliment to the book and its author. One was lifted directly from my hotel room in Seattle; it sat on the bed next to my expensive camera and my favorite "travel tape" collection. JUST the book went to a new home. It gets frustrating. So off I went to buy yet another copy of Surfing!
Oh well, I finally sat and read my fourth copy in one afternoon, jealously guarding the danged thing. I highly recommend reading this book. It's fun and enlightening, light and inspirational. Just read your book entirely before you set it down - it has legs.
Rating: Summary: an enlightening experience Review: A first good step toward learning the true essence of life. I know what is written is true from my own experience with very psychically evolved people who surround me. I feel it has helped me on my own path to eventual enlightenment.A very entertaining and concise book on the subject of spiritual enlightenment
Rating: Summary: A breath of fresh air! Review: It was a great treat to come across a literary work that brings hope and tons of laughter!
"Surfing the Himalayas" is truly a breath of fresh air!!
Rating: Summary: The happiest book in the universe...thanks for the reminder. Review: This book is beyond words. It is a book that radiates the Truth and how to get in touch with that Truth within each of us
Rating: Summary: Engaging, humorous and informative. Review: One test of the quality of a book lies in how it holds up to repeated reading. This book passes this test with flying colors. Upon re-reading you are treated to even more insight into the depth of this subject (Eastern philosophy/spirituality) and how to bring these ideas into your own life. A wonderfully approach to a subject new to many Americans
Rating: Summary: Spiritual fraud. Review: This is yet another spirituality-made-easy, bubblegum
New Age nonsense, written by a conartist. Read the article
in _Skeptic_ magazine (Lycos search) for more information.
Rating: Summary: The most beautiful and inspirational book ever written Review: Surfing the Himalayas is the most inspirational book I
have ever read. I have given it to my brother, my mother, my
grandmother, my best friend, my colleagues from work and several others. It has changed the life of each person to whom I have given it.
Dr. Frederick Lenz is the most brilliant person I have ever
had the opportunity to meet. I went to see him speak about
his book in San Francisco with my parents. I was dumbfounded
by how intelligent his answers were. He was able to relate
Buddhism to the audience in manners they could understand.
He spoke of topics such as karma and reincarnation relative
to quantum mechanics, the economy and whatever other topics
people in the audience could relate to. My father, who is
an extremely intelligent mechanical engineer, stated that
Dr. Frederick Lenz was extremely brilliant and had the ability to draw parallels between different areas like only
the most intelligent people are able. He enchanted my mother
when she went to have her book signed and told her I was
lucky to have her as a mother.
Everything Rama does is done with such style, perfection and
beauty, it is impossible to comprehend unless you witness it
first hand. His book, Surfing the Himalayas, demonstrates this very effectively and I anxiously await the sequal.
