Summary: It is as if Katie was my best friend.
Review: The Shunning was a great book but the end left me hanging in the air. What happens to Katie. With finding out about The Confession and reading it I felt like I was right their with Katie, but I was left hanging in the air again. I have read Amish books in the past but nothing this fantastic. These 2 books have a spot in my heart, plus I have learned more about the Amish. Know I'm ready for book #3,#4,#5......!

Summary: A dramatic sequel
Review: This is the sequel to "The Shunning" and it picks up slightly before the other one finishes, but from a different view point.

This is Katie's/Katherine's story of how she finds her birth mother and the obstacles she faces. I thought that there could be a little bit more conflict and maybe a little less preaching in this book.

I liked this book, but I don't think it had the emotional impact of the first one. But it was a fast read and an enjoyable one.

I would recommend this book.

Summary: An excellent book. A cliffhanger of sorts.
Review: When I bought these books as a set from Guideposts, it seems like I took a chance. But then I have wanted to read about the Amish. And I'm glad that I did. When I finished The Shunning, I could not wait to start reading The Confession, and then The Reckoning. The Confession taught me to find where your heart is at, even if it means that you have to make sacrifices. In all, it took me four days to read all three books. If there are more fictional books about the Amish, I like to read them. However, I would like to close by saying hello to the Amish and God Bless Them. They are wonderful people.

Summary: Slow-moving sequel with a sad ending
Review: While it's great that Katie/Katherine was finally reuinited with her mother in the end, why did there have to be quite so many obstacles? I will continue to read all 3 books in the series, because an important part of the story is lost without reading the whole set, but I'd like to see a little less conflict!
