Summary: I don't get it
Review: After all the great reviews and a recommendation from a friend I read The Holy Man with a "huh?" after every chapter. Maybe I am simple minded, but I just plain didn't get it. Okay, so it gave some examples of human nature, but I thought they were things everyone already knew. And, the Holy Man, himself, had so many weaknesses...why would anyone go to him? What made him so special? And, if all the answers are in ourselves, then why do we need God? And, what of the Savior and the Atonement? This book left me depressed and discouraged, but most of all puzzled. It caused me to wonder what is wrong with me that I didn't get it and become enlightened. Symbolism? What the heck did the thing about the ponies mean? Why not just say it right out? Sorry, but I wasn't enthralled and captivated. I gave it 2 stars because some of the "pilgrims" were interesting.

Summary: Absolutely Charming
Review: After reading this book, which I got totally by accident, I was teary-eyed and charmed. This is one of the most heart-warming and relaxing books you will read in your life. It will leave you meditative and calm. Highly recommended!!!!!!!

Summary: Applicable and relavent
Review: Along the path of life comes humor and reality. Rarely does an author express both with poignancy and personality. The Holy Man represents us-you and I- and our path to find what is already there. Susan Trott does a stellar job with this book. Kudos and plaudits for an easy read with a deeper meaning

Summary: A must read. A must to read to your kids.
Review: Funny how I came along this book...I was taking a long car trip and was searching the audio books section of my local library. The library's system for audio books is like looking at a thousand identical bindings with different names -- it's mind numbing. Anyway, I zoned in on the title of this book, read the decription and knew it was going on my trip...On the trip I became so enthralled with the tales...until the tape twisted itself making it sound like the narrator was on ludes! I then went to the bookstore, had them order me one and learned "Journey" was coming out... I soon consumed "Journey" also. I have given these books away as gifts so many times, I should be a distributor! Read them both; tales of wonder and intelligence...I hope Susan Trott never sleeps again!

Summary: The perfect mix of wisdom and heartfelt humor.
Review: I came across "The Holy Man" without any expectations, and was utterly charmed not only by the story itself, but also by Susan Trott's wonderful use of language. She uses a light-hearted, witty approach to her characters, which readers will easily relate to since they struggle with the life issues we all do -- the search for love, accepting our losses with grace, trying to become a better person. "The Holy Man" is my favorite gift book; no one that I've given it to has failed to be enchanted by it as well.

Summary: Refreshing, like a breath of fresh air, a dip in cool waters
Review: I loved this book. It is so simple and yet so profound. I got it because of a review I read in Unity magazine. It sounded so original. And that it was. Somehow you find yourself seeking answers... throughout the pages... but just like the people in the line you realize that you have all you need NOW in this instant. This book is like a lemon, I think you could read it over and over and squeeze out just a little more each time.
