Summary: A Cup of Comfort Soothes the Soul
Review: A Cup of Comfort is a soothing tonic for these scary days. When everything seems crazy and negative, these uplifting stories are such a welcome respite. I especially liked the story "Ah the Dandy Lions." Its sweet hopefulness was the perfect ending to this great book. Everybody should take a few minutes here and there and read the stories to remind themselves of the good in the world.

Summary: What a timely book!
Review: Boy, talk about timely books! A Cup of Comfort is what this nation needs to heal. I picked up this book and couldn't stop reading. The stories are truely amazing! It is in times like these that we need a pick me up and this is a cup we acan all share. I was particularly impressed with The Lady in the Blue Dress by Edie Scher and Crossing Paths by Jamie D'Antoni. These stories show that anything can happen if you are open to the possiblities. I hope to see more from these two ladies...they are very talented and have a good grasp on storytelling. I would recommend this book to everyone!

Summary: A Cup of Tea and A Cup of Comfort: The Best Medicine
Review: For me, there is no better medicine than a cup of chamomile or orange ginger tea and a book of inspirational stories. So it is with A Cup of Comfort : Stories that warm your heart, lift your spirit, and enrich your life. This book, slices of life of those, who stop and honor what still matters in this country, the commonality and wonder of the human spirit.

Some of the stories are several pages long and others like Lynn Ruth Miller's Sing Your Song, is only two pages long, yet packs a powerful message of perseverance. The Crying Chair by May Marcia Lee Norwood tells of a teacher's compassion for her students' need to express their pain and The Lady in the Blue Dress by Edie Scher is a testament to the power of faith.

This book is by my bed and I indulge myself in one of the stories several times a week and promises to be a mainstay in my collection of inspirational reading. I applaud the editor, Colleen Sell for her vision for the Cup of Comfort concept and the Adams Media Corporation for believing in it, which has branched into a series. There is also A Cup of Comfort for Friends and the upcoming A Cup of Comfort Cookbook and A Cup of Comfort for Women of which I am proud to be a contributor.

Summary: An Uplifting Book
Review: I truly enjoyed reading "A Cup of Comfort." The stories in it were alternately happy and sad, but they were all in their ways uplifting, heartening, and very, very good. I was particularly touched by Edie Scher's story, "The Lady in the Blue Dress," which heads up the collection, and which I thought was an absolute gem of hopefulness and beauty. I would recommend this book to anyone! And think it will make a wonderful gift for a birthday or holiday.

Summary: Just what I needed
Review: Life has been a little crazy, what with the tragedy, the economy, and life in general. I needed a little something to brighten my day and give me a little time to reflect. Cup of Comfort was perfect! The stories are really well-written, and I can read one a day, or a couple at once before going to bed. And my husband has been reading it whenever I put it down!

Summary: A true pick-me-up
Review: The horrendous tragedy our country has faced has also caused me to personally feel extremely saddened, angry, and frustrated to say the least. While it's difficult to move on, I've found a sense of peace and hope in this gem of a book, A Cup of Comfort. The short, uplifting stories can take one away, even for a brief moment, to a place where life seems more hopeful and fulfilling. I laughed and reflected on my fortunate life while reading the well-written stories. This is one book that I'll gladly recommend and give to my family and friends. A Cup of Comfort may well help others deal with their grief--it has certainly helped me.

Summary: Moving Stories
Review: The stories in this book are so nicely done. Very uplifting and moving without being syrupy or sappy. A really encouraging read at a time when we all need a bit of comforting. Thanks.

Summary: A comforting, "feel good" book
Review: When I picked up this book, I was feeling depressed and shaken up by the terrorist attacks on NYC and Washington. If you want something to help you feel a little better, or to at least escape for a bit, this book will do it for you. The stories are all really positive and uplifting. Plus, you can read one story at a time if you only have a few minutes or read a lot all at once. I've been carrying this around with me and sharing it with my friends.
If you like the Chicken Soup books, give this one a try. I LOVED it--the stories are even more creative and inspiring than Chicken Soup.
