Rating: Summary: Isis Demystified Review: In my search for more and more indepth subject matter, I have come across a lot of badly written books. This is not one of them Regula put together a very consise text containg the History, & Mystery of Isis, in an easy to understand format. This book has info on Temple sites, ritual dress, ritual offerings, dance, making ritual items, and a plethora of other things im too lazy to mention. And its loaded with pictures and illustrations. There are small nuggets of info on Goddess who were seen in the 'Company' of Isis , namely Bast & Het-Hor, as well as some meaning to the rituals themselves. All in all, not a book for a person looking for an advanced system of magic, but not a load of fluffy ...as you may expect from DJ Conway or $ilver Raving-Maniac. Beginer to Intermediate lever reading.

Rating: Summary: A fine book about Isis Review: It is difficult to review this book. It is excellent and a must for everyone who - for whatever reasons - is fascinated by the figure of Isis. Since I am one of them I just had to recommend it. But, to be fair, there are aspects I miss in this book. For me, an important aspect of Isis is her role as a fighter against evil. The central myth about Isis describes her fight against the evil Set, who not only commits the cut-up murder of Osiris but even molest the child Horus. In both these cases Isis intervenes and saves Osiris as well as defend Horus. Unfortunately the book somewhat downplays these aspects of Isis. This probably has something to do with the fact that the book partly is inspired by New Age philosophy, which is often quite non-dualistic in its worldview. But, on the other hand, it is a quite encyclopaedic work, where the reader will get information about a lot of aspects of the Goddess. And it has many wonderful pictures... So in spite of the fact that I miss an emphasis on those aspects of Isis that is quite important for me I really enjoyed this book. I can very much recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A thoroughly readable introduction to an ancient goddess Review: My curiosity was immediately aroused as I viewed the curious spine and title of this book. Looking at the cover, I knew I had discovered a potentially pleasurable read. Even though I am not a goddess worshipper, I thoroughly loved this book. My buried curiosity about ancient Egyptian culture and worship has re-emerged thanks to De Regula's passionate and informative chapters. I am now an "Egypt Nut Reborn!"
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful! Review: One of the best books I've read in a long time. Unlike many other "god/dess" specific books she wasn't at all purly historic. She really delved into everything that Mother Aset is. I wouldn't give up my copy for the world :O)
Rating: Summary: An Invaluable Resource for Isian Worship, Highly Recommended Review: Set up as a day in the temple of Isis, each of the twenty-four chapters corresponds to a different hour of one day and one night. They are then dedicated to portraying a different aspect of this unique goddess, chapter by chapter, and to the various facets of her worship. Years of study and love of the subject reflect within the pages of this book. The author shows the influence of Isian worship as it spread from ancient Egypt to the temples of Greece, Rome, the Far East and into Northern Europe. Clear presentations are given for constructing rites, invocations, for making ritual tools and robes for use in the modern day; including valuable Isian correspondences of symbols, stones, plants, scents, metals and colors. From her earthly home along the banks of the Nile to the star Sirius, or Sothis, known as the Home of the Soul of Isis, we are given a glimpse of the universal appeal and influence of this ancient goddess. Ms. Regula's book provides a vibrant, unique portrait of goddess centered worship based on sound historic research and modern day magickal practice. Since I first read it two and one half years ago, I have used it as a reference again and again.
