Summary: A Good Christian Romance
Review: As CeCe Williams heads out to meet the director of Genesis House community center she is prepared to let him know that he had cost her to lose a much needed real estate commission by missing their first meeting. But she is not prepared for Nate Richardson's immediate meaningful apology and she is definately not prepared for a smile that erased any ill will torwards the man who will be her boss for the next couple of months. CeCe finds herself becoming more involved with Nate and the goings on at Genesis House. Nate admits to himself that he wants CeCe and her young son to remain in his life. But before they can come together he and she must share secrets and ask God to help them heal past hurts and accept this gift of love given to them. AWAKENING MERCY is my first Angela Benson novel and my first Cristian romance and I totally enjoyed it. Ms. Benson's beliefs shine through in this beautiful novel of faith, healing and love. I recommend this book.Vannie(~.~)

Summary: The Power of Forgiveness
Review: But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins. --- Matthew 6:15

In Awakening Mercy by Angela Benson, the storyline is a familiar daily occurrence. A young woman, CeCe, engages in premarital sex with her first love. When CeCe discovers she is pregnant, she anticipates marriage and a happy life with the young man in her life. Unfortunately, she finds herself years later a single mom with bitter memories and a hard heart towards men.

Only through circumstances that have been divinely orchestrated, CeCe meets the dashingly handsome Nate. Nate has been wounded himself by a failed marriage. Despite some trepidation, this couple discovers true friendship and a budding romance as they both take the initiative to let God lead their relationship. The true test of a relationship's longevity depends heavily on the couple's crisis management skills. As CeCe's past comes back to haunt her full circle, her struggles cause a strain on the relationship.

Angela Benson magnificently weaves a romantic storyline that embraces the power of forgiveness. The final outcome of this novel will motivate readers to examine their own past disappointments, learn how to forgive and move forward to the life God intended.

Summary: Awakening Mercy
Review: Cece Williams has proven that despite an out-of-wedlock pregnancy she was able to finish college, start a career, buy a home, and be a responsible mother. Having suffered through the hurt and humiliation of her past relationship, she is determined to live her life as a Christian. She is prepared to do it without male companionship. Her experiences with men, even those claiming to be Christians, leave her believing that her life is just fine until she encounters Nathaniel Richardson, director of Genesis House where she is has been directed to report for community service for outstanding parking ticket fees. Nate has not dated since the breakup of his marriage four years prior. With his ex-wife's recent marriage he has finally realized it is time for him to let God have his way in his life. The guilt of failing is still with him when he meets Cece, but the easy rapport they share is a welcome change. The fact that she is a practicing Christian is all the more appealing. As he gets to know her he falls in love with her loving spirit as well as Cece's four-year old son, David. Ms. Benson paints a fine picture of the trials of a couple who must rely on their faith to make a go of a relationship in this 41/2 star read. She is just as a compelling writer in Christian romance as she is in contemporary.

Summary: Single Mom's Drama
Review: CeCe Williams learns the complications that accompany being a Christian with a past. She allows the mistakes and regrets of her past to prevent her from experiencing love. Instead she dedicates her life entirely to working and raising her son. However speeding tickets and community service force her to confront her feelings about love.

Summary: A Job Well Done!
Review: Definitely a recommend...! I look forward to reading the continuation. This story closely resembled my life (without the blackmail situation). I too was a single mother of a son and a Christian, who by divine appointment, met a "real" Christian man. Nate is a lot like my (now) husband. Although Nate is a fictitious character, he gives hope to women that there are still "good" men in the world as long as God is first in their lives. CeCe's story allowed me to revisit my past to see where I could extend forgiveness if it had not truly been done. I appreciate that God was acknowledged and was glorified in this novel and that it was expressed the importance of, specifically couples, to pray together no matter what. This novel shows Ms. Benson's greatest strength other than her writing; her relationship with God.

Summary: ZZZZZ-ZZZZZzzzzzz
Review: I could barely keep my eyes open. This book was recommended to me. I liked the title, but the story was so long and drawn out. CeCe was just playing games. The charaters didn't seem real. It read more like a Harloquin Romance novel than a true black christian fiction romance. It didn't flow. Sorry. I cannot recommend this read.

Summary: Wonderful reading!!
Review: I found this book to be a true blessing. I think it is important to see relationships both good and bad and this book allow for it all. Ce Ce and her son, Ce Ce and Nate, Ce Ce and her work, Ce Ce with her parents and Ce Ce with her everchanging life. Ce Ce is like so many of us and I am glad she was allowed to be "exposed" so many of us will stop our "many faces" and allow God to bless us. Ce Ce showed how overwhelmed we can be when we don't allow God to be the guide of our ships. I really felt the author shared a special gift with me and hopes God continues to give her the words that many of us can't or won't express. This was my first time reading one of her books, but it is not the last.

Review: I picked this book up as something to peruse while waiting for child to finish up with library work. With in 30 minutes read 80 pages. Good, clean but stirring 'real life' romance. I enjoyed it very much.
