Rating: Summary: It's the perfect book! Review: A few years ago I read some books about Chinese astrology. Because I knew all about the western astrology this subject was very interesting. And than the surprise: this book written by Suzanne White. It's a perfect book.
Rating: Summary: Compulsive reading Review: Although sometimes vague for the most part this book is simply astonishing in its accuracy and really is an amazing feat. Curious how other reviewers have either higly rated it or destroyed it. My guess is they did not like reading about themselves. Poor souls.
Rating: Summary: Fun! Fun! Fun! Compatibility section is right on the money! Review: Contains an informative and interesting explanation of the two types of astrology in the beginning of the book. The author follows this with a general break down of the Eastern personality types. She then zeros in on more specific personality types by combining the Western Astrology Signs with the Eastern Signs. My friends and I have been amazed at the accuracy of the Compatibility section! But she doesn't just describe "Love" signs or the "good" side of each personality. The New Astrology gives both positive and negative aspects; the environment best suited for each personality; how they function within home and family; and suggested professions. I think it is the most fun when used in conjunction with, and as a supplement to, conventional astrology charts. So it's not brain surgery...lighten up!
Rating: Summary: Taurus Rising Review: Even a surface reading of "The New Astrology" exposes the fact that the text consists of little more than an inelegant highjacking of themes set forth in the writings on the topic by the legendary online journalist, Gus Mueller. Readers are strongly encouraged to bypass this ersatz material in favor of the original.
Rating: Summary: The New Copywrite Review: Hopelessly derivative, this work is a pale imitation of the writings of the true pioneers of the New Astrology. Readers interested in primary source material may wish to consult "The Musings of the Gus" for the rise of syncretic astrology in the youth culture of the mid-1990's.
Rating: Summary: The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need Review: Hundreds and hundreds of complex, detailed, pages of all the information you'll ever need to know about your astrological sign. This is the only astrology book you'll ever need. And it's very complete. But, my favorite element, is that it is indeed quite fun. Some of these things are quite surprising ... you'd never guess how accurate they can be. I generally don't take these things quite too seriously, but these very detailed descriptions are frighteningly correct, at times. All the same, you'll enjoy it.

Rating: Summary: Meeting an old friend from the past Review: I am a numerologist and am always looking at new ways of understanding people. I saw this book for a brief while in 1992 at a bookshop called, would you believe it, Fountainhead. I was really amazed at some of its predictions and pleased to be put in the same league as JFK and Jean Paul Sartre, both Gemini-Snakes. However, by the time I made up my mind to buy it, it was gone. So it was a real pleasure to see it back on Amazon.com today.
Rating: Summary: This is IT !! Review: I have been wondering the unification of western (horizontal) and eastern (vertical) astrologies. We all know that it doesn't make any sense for all people born under year-X would share same characteristics. Likewise, if people in the world born in January are similar. Suzanne has fulfilled my dream by creating 144 possible personalities. This is by far the most accurate book I've ever read. I'd say something around 80% accuracy. The other 20%, of course, lies on the education, family ubringing, culture, and financial background of the individuals. Let's say this book tells us what our default personality is, and in a very unique way that is. I recommend this book very highly. Thank you.
Rating: Summary: The definitive guide on getting to know someone quick Review: I have often read this book after getting to know someone and have been amazed at how close it was...then kicked myself for not reading up on the person before I got too involved with them - could have saved me some rough roads maybe! When I read mine, it was like someone looking over my shoulder and into my head. Kind of spooky really. I have found that sometimes a particular combination didn't fit, but it was usually if they were on a cusp and if I read their cusp sign with their Chinese sign, it was usually much closer or I could pick out traits in each. There was some things in my own combo that weren't currently true but were in the past. Really an amazing book and Suzanne is really funny in her delivery of the information! It feels like she's sitting across from you chatting away. Makes it easy to read. She's obviously a very intelligent and witty. First writer I've ever wanted to actually meet.
