Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Clever reverse-engineering of present-day technology hoax Review: Thank you Phil for saving our country, our planet, and our species. You did a terrific job you wonderful guy you! Your name will live on. Every child will know it! Etc., Etc., Etc.This book contains a lot of techno-talk about the perported UFO crash at Roswell, N.M. in 1947. In spite of all the wonderful history lesson of technological breakthroughs of specific devices, there are no photos, x-rays, chemical or physical analysis, medical reports, or ANY details of aliens, their spaceship, or their devices. There is NO WAY that a filing cabinet, that Phil suposedly "inherited" could have contained abandoned military documents or artifacts or devices such as breifly described by Corso. There are NO military documents pertaining directly to a UFO crash at Roswell! Everything is heresay evidence. His understanding of science is errant in some details. The details are conspicuous by their absence!!! This book is interesting only because it reveals the oposite of what Corso wants the reader to believe; that what he is writing is true. Oh, if we did indeed have a photo, circuit diagram, chemical analysis of only the BATTERY or power source in the hand-held metal-cutting laser so often mentioned by Corso! Well, good luck reader. Why does he refer to his collection of alien stuff the "nut file"? (hint, hint). But it is good reading if only to pick apart this mish-mash of often repeated tech-talk nonsense. TVW
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great introduction...now what!!! Review: This book seems to be an outline to much more information concerning UFO information. Corso appears to be very credible. However, what is his agenda now? He suggests that we have countered or placed any alien threat into check. However, why do UFO's still appear to this day such as in Phoenix? Tell me more about the lunar base? Tell me more about the religious implications you poked at once or twice. I only hope this is the tip of enormous iceberg!!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Unique perspective, but lacks documentation and detail. Review: The reader of this work is given a taste of its ideological bent upon reading the forward by Senator Strom Thurmond. Thurmond's forward praises
Lt. Col. Corso's impeccable military credentials without discussing the books premise - that is that
the Cold War was won in no small part due to the
successful reverse engineering of Alien artifacts
recovered at the Roswell crash site in 1947.
Corso's book is replete with generalizations regarding the so-called Alien technology found at
Rozwell; however, he offers nothing more than unsupported generalizations. The various appendices in the book are disjointed and are unrelated to the
book's premise that the U.S. Military and Industry
used Alien technology in developing key weapons systems as SDI, the Stealth Bomber, lasers, etc.
It appears that the appendices were added as
fillers. They add nothing and confirm less.
Even more puzzeling than the disjointed appendices
are the photo inserts. I mean what do photographs
of the author's son playing with a robot he has built
and Corso shaking hands with US Officers during his
visit as Inspector General have to do with Alien
encounters, Rozwell or UFO's? Again their insertion suggests filler. The other photo insertions illustrating alleged UFO encounters
offer nothing new and depict the popular photos
familar in many UFO publications. Considering
Corso's access to confidential files and his
reference to the "Nut File," (his term for the
Rozwell documents), one would expect exciting new
disclosures.
A question that Corso never addresses in the book is why has he now come forward to discuss the so-called cover-up? One can suspect that he
wishes to cash-in on the 50th anniversary fervor.
I know he "hooked" me.
The book's release date does little to deminish this motive.
The books ending is also puzzeling. Who is the
mysterious person (presumably Russian)speaking with Corso and why is it there?
Throughout his book,Corso defends the government's
right to "lie" for the overall good of the nation.
Is this book full disclosure or another attempt at
disinformation? Considering the lack of documentaion
and official citations, I am inclined to believe
the latter.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Corso is truthful, but he is also a Cold Warrior. Review: This book offers an extremely unlikely, almost outlandish, tale, told by a man with impeccable credentials, including a record for telling hard truths. What are we to think of it? My conclusion: Corso is for real. He was, as he claims, the point man in the Army's (or at least, for Gen. Arthur Trudeau's) effort to put recovered "alien" technology into the hands of defense contractors for the purpose of reverse engineering.
The larger question than Corso's credibility is, Why is he telling us all this now? I find it difficult to believe that a career soldier -- an intelligence specialist -- with the sort of absolute loyalty to his country that Corso evinces, would spill all the beans Corso is spilling, unless he were strongly encouraged (perhaps even ordered) to do so. The only reasonable view of this book, I think, is that it is one element in a concerted, if belated, disclosure campaign that may finally be shifting into second gear here in this 50th anniversary year of the Roswell crash.
This is not to say we should believe everything Corso tells us. He may be speaking the truth, as he knows it, but his perspective is drastically skewed. He is a consummate Cold Warrior, whose immediate and unshakeable conclusion regarding the "aliens" was that they were hostile. What has apparently never occurred to him is that it is his own militaristic, paranoid mindset, and the planet-dominating power structure within which it formed, that may be offensive to our extraterrestrial visitors and that they may have needed to keep in check. Thus, the "aliens" may indeed be Corso's enemy, but perhaps not ours.
Corso actually seems to believe that his efforts at technology seeding led to a genuine military standoff with the "aliens" (a laughable assertion, given the visitors' demonstrated physical and psychological capabilities); so it's not too surprising that he fails to delve into the implications of the most central and yet incredible fact in this whole amazing business: that the "aliens" look so much like us (or I should say, that we look so much like them). Corso mentions in passing the evidence for a long-time visitor presence; but the nearly inescapable conclusion -- that they created us (at least physically) in their own image, and might therefore have an interest in our continued well-being -- has no place in his worldview.
Without denigrating the contributions to the preservation of freedom of Corso and his compatriots, it is high time that his world died and was reborn.

Review: Corso reveals nothing new about ufo's but simply weaves about every version of sightings into his book. Could his and Senator Strom Thurmond (author of the books foward) motivation be to raise support for SDI (Reagan's Star Wars defense system? They paint the alien's as hostile to the safety of the entire world
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: 50 Years of UFO Cover-up Comes Crashing Down Review: Perhaps the only piece of the Roswell/UFO puzzle missing for so many years has been the authentification, from official sources, of what really crashed in the deserts of New Mexico in 1947. Since then, speculation has run rampant. But finally, from a source higher up in the loop than even four decades of presidents, comes Col. Philip J. Corso's true life account of the Roswell Incident; what we learned, and how we have summarily responded to the ever-growing 'threat' of the Extra-terrestrials. Only now the world will know the truth of whom our Cold-War Enemies really were! This book ends the discussion in regards to this chapter of the UFO reality. I highly recommend it for students of the phenomenon - and everyone else

It is important that as many humans as possible read it. Let's not let it go unnoticed. Corso has credibility, facts, and seemingly 'no axe to grind'. I am stunned. Along with Mr. Birnes Corso has brought light to a subject that has been in the darkness for fifty years. Bravo!

The reverse engineering of extraterrestrial technology is also fantastic but true
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Interesting read whether it's fiction or non-fiction. Review: I found this book highly interesting about the controversial Roswell UFO mystery. Add to that the fact that it's written by Lt.Col. (retired) Philip Corso, a military officer with a stellar reputation, for whom this book serves as what seems like a testimonial. He certainly didn't do it out of personal greed for money, he was in his 80s when he decided to write this book. It looks like he's someone who wanted to speak out before he died of old age about something his government, which he served honorably, was keeping from and lying to the public about. Even if you don't believe this story is true, the thoughts presented in this book by Lt.Col. Corso ranks as a highly entertaining science fiction read with the ideas (facts?) in it. It goes into not only the Roswell cover-up, but also how the US military went about dispersing alien hardware to US firms (most of it by Lt.Col. Corso himself), and how alien technology has been and continues to touch our lives today. That part of the book was really weird to think about. Personally, it was a page turner for me, and I finished it within a week.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of the best books in this Genre! Review: Having read the TOP Four books in the UFO/Alien/ Government Coverup Genre;
Alien Agenda by the best selling author of 'Crossfire' Jim Marrs (Best reference on UFOlogy) is my favorite; followed by 'Alien Rapture' by Brad Steiger (Great fiction-soon to be a movie), co-authored by a real black program insider; and the scientists UFO Bible, `Unconventional Flying Objects,' by the scientist Dr. Paul Hill (NASA UFO Investigator for 30 years).
I'd say Corso's book is a MUST READ! Why would a respected, decorated, connected Military Officer swear in a Court of Law that the UFO Conspiracy is real and that the facts and agenda in these books ARE TRUE.
Why? If you read this excellent book and the others, you will know that they are indeed true. Two well respected American Astronauts have come forward to proclaim they had seen evidence of the Roswell UFO crash and stated they know the cover-up is real. Was Corso's sudden demise a product of this conspiracy? You be the judge.
