Review: The Day After Roswell is an excellent and well written text that reveals how the capture of a crashed alien space vessel at Roswell in 1947 jump started technological development across a broad spectrum. Since its author is revealing government secrets and the rationale behind the secrecy, it calls into question what his motives were in writing. If this is an expose' then he is in violation of his oath of secrecy and could be prosecuted. As such, it seems unlikely that this is disinformation, since it contradicts the standard government stance that UFOs don't exist. On the other hand, it may be something the government authorized, even asked Col. Corso to do, as part of a plan to reveal gradually what has been going on for the past half century. (Notice that a few years thereafter the gov't foisted yet another false story about what happened at Roswell. Reminds me of a little kid who got caught stealing from the cookie jar and keeps making up one story after another to avoid admitting their guilt.)This revelation raises further questions. Why would aliens wait for us to improve our technology if their intentions were belligerent? The answer may be simple. Since they are apparently studying us in much the same fashion that we do various forms of wildlife, such as radio tagging grizzly bears, they may have underestimated our capacity to adapt their technology and come up with a viable defense to them. Also, if we intentionally shot down one of their craft over Germany in 1974, more than a quarter of a century ago, what has been the status of this 'war' from then until now? Are they still buzzing our planes and spacecraft? Still experimenting on cattle and humans? What has been the effect of demonstrating our ability to stop them, or is it illusory that we can? Is the real purpose of this book to say that yes, ET is really there but we now have a defense against them, even though we don't? If so, this is a different kind of disinformation. All of this calls into question another consideration. Why is it that we are planning to go to Mars while having bypassed the moon as a base of operations? Certainly the latter has little gravity, so escape velocity requirements are minimal compared to taking off from earth. Are the space stations intended for that purpose as an alternative? I vividly remember listening to Neil Armstrong as he took mankind's first steps on the moon in 1969. Our (vacuum tube) TV broke so we had to listen on the radio. He distinctly stated that he saw lights coming from a nearby crater. Later I read that when he went over to the crater, there was an alien craft and they telepathically told him that we were to stay off of the moon. After a few missions we stopped going there. What is the real reason? Since one side of it always faces the earth, it makes an ideal observation post to watch this planet. And do we keep losing expensive probes that we send to Mars as soon as they arrive there because ET is destroying them? Read the book. Answer your own questions, and ask new ones. P.S. Having worked a summer job as a teen at Fort Belvoir, the home of the U.S. Army's Corp of Engineers, the local references that Col. Corso cites were particularly personally poignant for me.

Review: Corso not only tells the facts of what happened in Roswell in 1947, but relates his feelings as he contributes to the government's cover-up of the incident. As an "insider" he had access to the actual crash site debris and the reports generated by the various military, medical and industrial researchers assigned to analyze the spacecraft, aliens and technology found at the site. Corso openly tells the story through his own personal experience with the incident. He gradually progresses from the date of the crash until his last days in the military. He reveals his own thoughts and explains how the government hushed the discovery while disseminating the "foreign technology" to those most qualified to do something with it. On the whole, this book provides some valuable insight into the government's propaganda machinations and yet is an easy and entertaining read. After reading this book, one is free to decide for themselves if an alien craft did crash in the Roswell desert. However, this book leaves you feeling that something happened there based upon the level of government involvement. If the facts as told by Corso are true, then we can truly say we are not alone in the universe!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: One of the best books in this Genre! Review: Having read the TOP Four books in the UFO/Alien/ Government Coverup Genre; My FAVORITE is 'Alien Rapture' by Brad Steiger (Great fiction-soon to be a movie); and Alien Agenda by the best selling author of 'Crossfire' Jim Marrs (Best reference on UFOlogy); and Unconventional Flying Objects (NASA UFO Investigator for 30 years) by the scientist Dr. Paul Hill, I'd say Corso's book is a MUST READ! Why would a respected, decorated, connected Military Officer swear in a Court of Law that the UFO Conspiracy is real and that the facts and agenda in these books ARE TRUE. Why? If you read this excellent book and the others, you will know that they are indeed true. Two well respected American Astronauts have come forward to proclaim they had seen evidence of the Roswell UFO crash and stated they know the cover-up is real. Was his sudden demise a product of this conspiracy? You be the judge.

Unfortunately there are too many "questionable" sources contributing to the subject and many times it makes a mockery of serious contributers. In "The Day After Roswell" Colonel Philip J. Corso provides what I feel is the most detailed, reliable and completely objective account of history's most debated UFO incedent. Colonel Corso is one of a kind - in the right position at the right time to have first hand knowledge of many interesting details, a man of unquestionable integrity dedicated to serving the American people and exposing this incident for what it really is, and a true master of seperating fact from speculation. The truth is completely exposed in this book, more completely than I've ever seen. Everything from what actually happened in the deserts of New Mexico to the political and military scramble to not only cover it up but also to prepare a defense against it. Colonel Corso, I salute you - it takes a man of exceptional courage to jeapordize such an outstanding military career to do what's right.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This is one of the most amazing books I have ever read. Review: Colonel Corso tells, in simple straightforward language, a story that would make the X-Files seem boring by comparison. He tells us that the Roswell crash was real, but the government felt they had to cover it up because they remembered the panic that had resulted from Orson Welles' fictional alien invasion broadcast just a few years earlier. Then he describes the process by which the alien wreckage found its way to his desk in the Army's Foreign Technology department, and the plan he concocted to put it to use, finally saving the entire planet from a real alien invasion. It all sounds so incredible, and yet there is no reason it could not be perfectly true. I have read this book cover to cover twice, and I am convinced it all happened exactly as he said. Some readers have said this book must be fiction; but if it is, Corso wasted his life being an Army officer when he could have been the greatest novelist of the twentieth century.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Excellent tale. Review: Corso has been on the inside, worked with reverse engineering of Alien artafacts while with the DoD. He submitted a sworn deposition in court attesting to the facts in this book for a lawsuit against government secrecy. Brad Steiger writes in Alien Rapture an almost identical history of alien contact, and is the only one who has described in detail the newest advanced technology developed from reverse engineering of alien artifacts that Corso only hints of. Only Corso, Steiger, and Dr. Paul Hill seem to really have inside information and astounding facts of the MJ- 12 coverup. Hill's Unconvential Flying Objects was written from his 30+ years as the NASA UFO investigator. Steiger's Alien Rapture was written with an ex-black program's expert and Area 51 employee. Steiger also included astounding new MJ-12 documents, including the Reagan Charter, and Autopsy report from Roswell. Corso speaks of removable alien lens, as also seen in the government's remake, for disinformation, of the Roswell autopsy film. Steiger's autopsy report was copyrighted before the autopsy film and before Corso started his book. Also the geo organ seen in the alien cadiver is described by Steiger before the film was released. Corso, as does Steiger and his co-author tell that the 'alien autopsy' was made in Lancaster Texas by the government. Knowing that the best lie is the one closest to the truth. Add six fingers to the cadiver and then no-one would believe it. Subtle changes to throw the whole field into confusion. Only these three authors have taken a stand at their own risk. None of these three books are like the myriad of UFO/Alien Contact books out there that ask more questions than they answer. If you want the whole truth and exacting details, then buy all three books. These books will be the new standard for those seeking the truth. Col. Corso has been reassigned to the here-after after an unfortunate and untimely demise. God Bless him and his family.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Extraordinary if true, but leaves much unanswered Review: Obviously, the implications Corso's claims are astounding. If true, this book will certainly be the Rosetta Stone for UFOlogy. Although there are no apparent reasons to doubt the honesty and integrity of Corso, the contents of the Appendices prove nothing. Along with the highly detailed descriptions of the alien technology and its subsequent impact, Corso continually drops hints
about "continued contact," "the real Cold War," an "alien lunar base," etc. I kept waiting to read more details about these tantalizing subjects. In these areas, the book is as unsatisfying as any other UFO speculation. Although the potential importance of the book cannot be denied, it raises many more questions than it answers. Hopefully, it will open a floodgate of information.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A very thought-provoking read ... Review: Every day items - the laser pointer in your briefcase, the laptop on your desk, the stealth capability of the F-117's flying over your head ... all may have had a little help from aliens who crashed in Roswell, NM. This was definitely one of the most interesting Roswell books I've read because it deals not only with the Roswell incident, but what took place in the govement afterwards for a number of years.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: If This Guy is Lying... Review: If Corso is lying about the subject matter contained in this book, he should be given some kind of an award. It is, hands-down, the most well conceived fabrication and outright sham I've eer read. I am somewhat of a skeptic and don't believe in much of anything (I believe religion is a practical joke that got out of hand). I have personally witnessed a craft zipping around the sky making right-angle turns at incredible speeds, but don't feel comfortable placing a label on what I saw. I don't know what to make of Corso's book, it's so much fun to read, but I'm not ready to make that leap of faith and admit to the possibility of any of it. Give it a read and make up your own mind.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Tabloid Book Review: This book reminded me of the articles commonly found in supermarket tabloids. The author completely fails to substantiate any of his rather remarkable claims. He offers no concrete or verifiable facts, only conjecture and his far fetched theories. For instance, he offers as evidence of his claims (in the appendices) copies of a formerly classified "lunar moon base plan" drawn up by the US Army in March 1959. This document was drawn up well before the United States had even successfully launched an unmanned satellite into earth orbit. This document speaks only in generalities and has more in common with the science fiction novels of the era than a technical paper. The other documents included in the appendicies are 40-50 year old formerly classified government correspondence/documents that included no specific details, only vague recommendation for further review or study. There is no bibliography. In other words, they are simply noise, just a few more pages in a sea of paper generated by an army of bureaucrats more than 4 decades ago. It is a mystery why the authors would bother to classify such materials as these. It also becomes apparent from the author's theories and conclusions that he has little, if any, scientific or engineering background. Perhaps he actually believes what he has written, but I certainly was not the least bit convinced. Indeed, I found the author's claims to be about as believable as the latest headlines seen in the National Enquirer.
