Summary: No other book can make you an Instant Tarot Reader!
Review: I worked for twenty years to produce The Instant Tarot Reader book. In it, I detail the meanings of the 78 different tarot cards in each of the 11 positions of the classic Celtic Cross tarot layout. Each of the 11 positions gives each of the 78 cards a different meaning, but until The Instant Tarot Reader book and tarot deck set, no book was able to tell you what each of the 78 cards meant in each of the 11 positions. I know why no other book has done it in the 1,000 year history of the tarot--it was hard to do!! Publisher's Weekly, the bible of the publishing industry, said "No other book we know of offers this degree of specificity." I agree. Now, for less than the price of a single tarot reading from a professional, you can do your own readings for the rest of your life, the instant you take the shrink-wrap off the package...it is that simple. I have gone out of my way to make the meanings USEFUL in your daily life. Every other tarot book, except my Enchanted Tarot, gives you the meanings of the cards in such a way that they can confuse even me, and I've studied tarot since the 1970's! No wonder so many people have a tarot deck gathering dust in a drawer. When you use my book, the answers are geared to real people with real questions about real problems. The wording offers you guidance you can use, not poetry. The good news is that The Instant Tarot Reader works with almost any tarot deck, and not just with the incredibly beautiful and gentle Zerner/Farber Deck that comes with it. The Z/F deck is 78 fabric collage tapestries made into a tarot deck. It is so beautiful I really don't know how to describe it in words. All I can tell you is that my wife, Amy Zerner, won a major National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in the category of Painting for her fabric tapestries, not in the category of Crafts. She was the only artist working in fabric to do this in the history of the NEA. If you are a beginner, there is no better way to learn. If you are experienced, I guarantee you will find a lot of meanings for the cards in the positions that you have never thought of before. I've put twenty years into The Instant Tarot Reader so you don't have to. May all your readings bring you to contentment in all circumstances, a lofty goal, I know, but a good one, none the less.

Summary: Great gift of art and insight
Review: Small, easy to handle cards with modern colors and images that have the feel of the old-time 'spiritualist' movement. Reading "by the book", the interpretations are accurate and make learning the standard meanings very easy. By far the best beginner's deck for anyone who wants to throw the cards and get an answer on the doubleon their first try. Open to intuitive reading as well, it's a deck that's a keeper long after the original purpose of learning the tarot has been fulfilled.

Summary: Great for beginners!!!
Review: This book and card set taught me the basics of the Tarot which encouraged me to learn more. I purchased this deck since my other tarot cards never really worked for me. When I did the readings with the book I was quickly able to memorize the keyword associated with the card as well as the meanings in the different positions the cards were in. The cards are small which is great for shuffling considering I have very small hands, other "regular sized" tarot cards are awkward to shuffle. I'd recommend this set for beginners as a good head start for reading the tarot. Once this is accomplished reading other books for more in depth knowledge of tarot is a must.

Summary: perfect for a BEGINNER , busy person, or Tarot collector
Review: This set is worth 5 stars to anyone new or new-ish to Tarot or people who don't have a lot of time and still want to get the benefits out of the clear and moral messages that Monte Farber makes clear. I especially like the one-card answer sections. You can ask with this deck a question like "What is blocking my success in my project" and have an answer in less than 5 minutes. The cards are small, about the size of regular playing cards, which makes them easier for the novice to shuffle. They have a nicely moody feeling to them (did Amy Zerner design them or Stevie Nicks?) Seriously, I enjoy Amy Zerner's work on this deck and wouldn't mind a larger showy set of these cards. There are a lot of rich colors in this deck and it's origionality makes it perfect for the Tarot collector.
