Summary: The Inner Temple of Witchcraft: Magick, Meditation, and psy
Review: This book is an excellent overview of modern magick, both religious and secular. Mr. Penczak has a wonderful gift for teaching the basics without inserting his own religious views into the excersizes. The lessons are practical and do not involve many outside materials. Each Practical follows a systematic lecture. I would highly recommend this book for a person who is curious about the world of magick, but doesn't feel the need to commit to a particular religion right off the bat.

Summary: The Inner Temple of Witchcraft
Review: This is a fantastic book for the beginner into the practice of the Wiccan Arts and Witchcraft. This book is very well written and easy to understand. Most people have the idea that Wicca and Witchcraft is all about casting spells. This book prepares the individual INTERNALLY before attempting to concentrate, raise energy and send it into the universe. The book teaches the student how to look inward at his or herself and prepare the mind, body and soul for the external working of Wicca and Witchcraft. This is very important before attempting magick. It concentrates on meditation and enhancing the psychic ability of the student therefore preparing them to channel their will and energy to create change in the universe. This book is a must for any beginning student into this wonderful, gentle and soul strengthening religion.

Summary: A Must Have Book
Review: This is absolutely the best book of its kind. Most witchcraft books focus strictly on magick/spells without giving you the foundation that is so imperative. Christopher Penczac is gifted with the ability to write and teach in a very interesting and effective way. This is not likely a book that will be read and then put on the shelf to gather dust. This is a textbook that you will want to refer to all along the way as you travel down your path. I have marked and highlighted in this book more than my college textbooks (my professors would be very upset with me). I can't say enough good things about this book. It has helped me to understand what witchcraft really is and how it can enhance my spiritual growth.

Summary: One of the best!
Review: This is an outstanding book. It is definitely one of my favorites on the topic of Wicca/Witchcraft. Besides most all Scott Cunningham books, I would think that this book is a valuable asset to a magical library. It is well written, flows good, not too textbook-like.

After reading many books on Wicca/Witchcraft, always in search of as much knowledge as possible, and creating my own tradition(a very long in depth process) I find that most books run together and start to repeat many of the same things, and gets sort of mind numbing at times. This book is very refreshing and has a lot of good meditation and "traveling inward" that is quite useful. I don't want to give the impression that there is nothing in this book that I haven't already read, and that there are no flaws, there are a few, but in general, the way it is written and the passion behind Christopher Penczak's writing is just a feel good read!

If you are interested in the Craft, what are you waiting for? This book will have something in it for you!

Summary: More of the same
Review: Well...the book is a good basic introduction to witchcraft 101 but contains nothing we've not seen time and time again. If you have anything by Cunningham or Ravenwolf, you've pretty much got this book already.

What I found troubling is the book's claim that after studying it the reader will achieve "the equivalent to the first-degree level of traditional coven-based witchcraft." My heart goes out to those who believe this and then have to face the embarassment of being laughed at when they try and own such a claim in the Craft community. This is one of the reasons why I gave the book only a two star rating, as I feel it is deceptive and misleading in this regard.

A friend told me that the author plans another book on how to become a High Priest, High Priestess, and community elder. I saw a photo of the author and he can't be more than 22 or 23 tops. So I'm wondering where the life experience and community experience is that qualifies him to instruct others in reaching eldership!?
Despite the fact that the author's youth and inexperience pervades the book, I do believe that in time he will be a fair writer of books on this genre.

In conclusion, for a beginner this book is as good a place to start as any. But nothing makes it stand out from the hundreds of books on this subject already in print that provide the same material. If you need yet another beginner's book repeating material you've already read then this will serve your needs well.
