Rating: Summary: A Special Favorite Review: In my library are a great number of obe books I've read over the years. The top tier are the writings of Robert Monroe, Robert Bruce, William Buhlman and perhaps Robert Peterson. This title by Buhlman is a very worthy read and for some reason I enjoyed it even more than his second. It's one of those books that causes you to return for another reading at a later date or to cross check something you read by another author. My best to Mr. Buhlman for sharing with us.
Rating: Summary: Concise and Inspiring Review: Adventures Beyond the Body is an excellent book for anybody who wishes to obtain information about and/or induce an out of body experience (OBE). For anybody who possesses any inhibitions when it comes to OBEs, there is a FAQ present (along with other sections of the book) that can clear them up. The first section of this book would be an introduction given by William Buhlman (the author) himself. In the introduction, Buhlman explains how he got involved with OBEs. The details given relate to many people who are either curious about OBEs or disbelieve in them. The next section of the book would contain segments of a journal William Buhlman kept; documenting is OBEs. The journal entries are one of the most inspiring parts of the book. Anybody who reads the entries would find the details amazing. After covering the OBE journal, Buhlman goes into scientific information about OBEs. The scientific information about OBEs and the astral world is very concise and interesting. When the reader reaches the final chapters, he/she will be able to read some methods for inducing OBEs. The methods are split into the categories of: visualization, affirmations, dream conversion (using lucid dreams to leave the body), and hypnosis. Overall, Adventures Beyond the Body is a great book to read for anybody and it makes an excellent gift for friends and relatives who follow the New Age, which is why I give it five stars.
Rating: Summary: GREAT CD BUT... Review: The CD is great with very relaxing music. Infact the first time I played it I "think" I may have got minor vibrations. But after that I have been trying everyday with headphones on my head but no luck in reaching the vibrations and ultimately having OBE. I am all for easy ways to experience OBEs. This idea seemed good. But after a while you feel your ears are sore with the headphones attached. Anyway I still think it's worth buying the CD.
Rating: Summary: Modern update from Monroe's books Review: This is a well written book by a veteran Out of Body traveler. I found this book a little more readable than Monroe's Journeys. Buhlman offers 'modern' techniques for having your own OOBE.
Rating: Summary: Never Leave Your "Body" Without It ! Review: Mr. William Buhlman, THANK YOU!!! Over the years, I've read many "Out of Body" books. To date, "Adventures Beyond The Body" is my favorite! This wonderful piece of work has helped me in ways I could never express in any written form. If your serious about having an "Out of Body Experience", hang on...you'll soon be going for the ride of your life!
Rating: Summary: cool Review: This book is the best. I also like his lecture on astral projection; out of body experiences on video cassett. You could go to the world wide web and look up astral projection and look for it. I forgot what web page it was on.
Rating: Summary: The best book I have read on the subject Review: I have read many books on the subject of OBE's and I have been practicing for 12 years. Bill Buhlman's book is the most practical and useful book I have read on the subject. New comers and experienced individuals will find a wealth of practical information and very specific exercises. I keep this book on my bedside and reread frequently some of the chapters to get my mind focused on my night travels. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A real page turner! Review: This book changed my life by opening my eyes to a whole new world. If you're even remotely interested in discovering the secrets of the universe or traveling Out of Body this is a great place to start. Mr. Buhlman does a great job of explaining some of the great mysteries of the universe in an easy to read clean- cut language. Highly Recommended.
Rating: Summary: My first book into out of body Review: Short and sweet! This was my first book concerning this subject. By simply opening one's mind to the subject it usually induces itself. For instance, I have spoken about my experiences to personal friends and family, and they have had an OBE shortly there after. This book definitely calmed many of my fears, and helped me become better at OBE's. This book is a must for anyone interested in OBE's. If you are a skeptic, simply experiment for yourself, this book yields a wealth of info for your experimenting pleasure. I would highly recommend an open mind and Robert Monroe's 3 books on the subject. Also check out the Robert Monroe institute. Good luck!
Rating: Summary: Buyer Beware Review: The irresponsible Mr. Buhlman has taken a complex, controversial subject matter, in a manifestly misguided attempt to enlighten his reader, and illogically renders it the pathway to elevated consciousness and experience. This clearly is a misdeed. No matter how skilled the reader may be, dangerous results await. It's clear that guidance to OBE's is best undertaken with thoughtful, well-reasoned knowledge provided by skilled practitioners. Clearly, this author should not be the first choice, or even second. One wonders if the author's real intent was to guide his reader into profound ways of thinking or just to manufacture a little cottage industry to line his own pockets. I know I do.
