Summary: Great taught me more than i could ever learn from a book
Review: I loved it. She talks about Astral Projection, Bi Location. Before i read this book i didnt know what Bi location was i never even heard the term. i learned how to cast spells better, astrally project, even how to open my chakras. it was a great book.

Summary: People LIKE this book??
Review: I found this book poorly writen and ill focused. I thought it cheapened Modern Witchcraft and knocked us back a few years in our progress.

I found it painfully cute and trite, and it seemed to promote the idea that all pagans practice Magick... not merely magick but the particular mystical rituals of the author.

It reads like Witchcraft on prozac, and there are soooooooo many books that are better.

But hey, it's better than "Witta" The book on Irish Witchcraft without an ounce of the Irish in it.

Summary: This was an exellent book!
Review: I liked this book very much. The author wrote from a down to earth "I know how you feel" point of view. This is a fabulous book for begginers. It covers information about Wiccan beliefs, Sabbats, and even some meditation techniques. It gives a basic overview (to say the least) on the entire science and religion of Witchcraft. I always recommend this book to those who want to know more about Wicca.

Summary: The Ultimate Beginners book!!A must for even the curious!
Review: Silver's way of writing and explaining the art of Witchcraft makes you feel like she is in the room teaching it to you directly. As a complete beginner I am studying this book thoroughly, which is really easy to do with the simple laymans terms used in this book. I can only hope now I may be able to learn more with others starting out in this ancient but exciting craft

Summary: Good basics but dubious background research
Review: This book is a good starting point for the beginner; but it contains numerous inaccuracies which have been covered up by the author's speculations. It is obvious that the author hasn't done much research into the European roots of her subject or studied some of the earlier/current authors on the Craft. The test at the end, while being a useful tool for the reader, has become a 'set-in-stone' rule for those who do not want to experience the growth process for themselves and who enjoy setting bounderies for others.

Summary: Bit of a Bore
Review: I found this book oversimplified the spiritual side of wicca. She tells us so many stories of her life and her experiences with witchcraft that you lose interest in the real content. I also found this book very rigid in what Ravenwolf feels you can and cannot do in wicca. One of the reasons so many people are attracted to wicca is because it is so open to personal interpretation. One's faith is not dependant on having the right sections in you Book of Shadows or the right herbs in your collection. Not the best book for beginners and a bit of a bore for anyone with any experience in wicca.

Summary: Wonderfully written book on Witchcraft for beginners!
Review: I am still a beginner Witch, and this book was the door that opened into whole other worlds for me. The author includes descriptions and pointers on many different subjects, such as candle magick, meditation, and outlines of rituals, as well as magnificent artwork. If you are at a loss for what to do next in your spiritual life, and Witchcraft has caught your attention, you need to read this book!

Summary: My First!!
Review: As a child I went to chatolic schools, but I still believed in magic, faeries, and witchcraft. When I was confirmed I was TOLD to forget such"foolish" things. I knew that talking would get me punished. But no one could make me forget what was in my heart. It was until my freshman year of high school that I was looking in a bookstore and stumbled upon the New Age section and found and studied this book. I BELIEVE that: You do not find Wicca, it finds you. Either by being Hereditary or by Fate. Later I found out that my Great Aunt practices also!! We now share secrets and are closer than ever!

The Goddess has BLESSED me.. May She DO THE SAME FOR YOU!!

Summary: A Phenominal Book, Beyond Words!
Review: I found To Ride A Silver Broomstick a wonderful Book, It has tons of great information for the begining Wiccan. Silver's writing is very warm and Humorous. This book is a must for every pagans bookshelf

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent Wicca 101
Review: Here is a delightful introduction to the Old Religion as practiced by a pragmatic person who cares about family, community and the forces of Nature. The new generation of Wicca are the folks who do not trace their roots back to Gerald Gardner but have collected their traditions from their own life experiences and the other people they have met.
