Rating: Summary: A Great Beginner Book Review: Being a total neophyte when it comes to wicca and witchcraft, I feel fortunate to have been directed to this book first. I don't know how deeply my future will delve into it yet, but I believe Silver RavenWolf has given me a good basis to make my decisions.
Rating: Summary: witchcraft 101 Review: I have read this book and i must say that it is a must if you are going to "break" into the craft....but be warned...she doesn't tell you to close off each of the watchtowers in her dedication ritual...and also she asks you to cast a magick circle before you even read how to do it..it isn't discussed how to do it until further chapters. This could be very dangerous to leave theses gates open. this book is great but before you do and thing with opening and closing a circle do reseach with other books and ask someone who is knowledgable in the craft first. But this is a great book all in all, and silver ravenwolf is an excellent author...
Rating: Summary: To Ride a Silver Broomstick : New Generation Witchcraft Review: I found this book to be very helpful. I found it very easy to read and to follow, I am not a read the instructions kind of person but this book is worth every penny. Silver has laid it out so that someone who has never heard of witchcraft can understand the TRUE meaning of the word. If you are just starting this is a must have book!!! I have since bought 2 more of her books and they too are worth every penny paid. Blessed Be....
Rating: Summary: Horrible! Review: Please do not purchase this book. It is horrible and rediculous! Ravenwolf is a joke. There is no other way to say it, she is simply a joke. If you are interested in REAL witchcraft, then look into purchasing Ray Buckland's books. He is a living master!
Rating: Summary: Great Book For Beginners! Review: To make this short and sweet. This is a great book to start with. To ride a silver broom stick will explain to you the questions that you have as a beginner. I gave this book to my 12yr old son to read as his first book also. I would recomend this book to everyone
Rating: Summary: Hilarious, Inspiring, Informational. Review: This book will have you laughing, saying to your self, wow, and provides you with valuable easy to read information. What else can I say, except that I plan on purchasing her other books. Blessed Be.
Rating: Summary: An excellent introduction, plus a little more Review: This is a very good and informative book! There is plenty of introductory material for the beginning student (i.e. becoming acquainted with the Dieties, choosing a magical Name, compiling a personal Book of Shadows, learning how to use magical tools). The section on creating your own Book of Shadows is extremely valuable and informative. RavenWolf goes into precise detail on how to build and organize your own Book, including a large list of very specific sections that one may want to include (i.e. "Astrological Correspondences", "Dowsing Research", "Ethics", "Gem Research", etc...) There is also a good deal of information for the more advanced student who may wish to become part of a larger group and/or become involved in public activities as a pagan representative. RavenWolf's sections on Ethics, Conflict Resolution, and how to protect yourself from magical or psychic attack can still be useful to a long-standing practioner of the Craft. Written with insight and a good deal of dry humor, this book is very highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Cover, Interesting Book! Review: I truly enjoyed Silver RavenWolf's, "To Ride a Silver Broomstick". Her contempory look into this ancient craft helps the reader understand Wiccan/Withcraft philosophies, directions and lifestyle. This book is a must read for beginners interested in the Craft, or for someone wanting a better understanding of the science/religion of Wicca/Witchcraft. The logical progression from brief history to the more meatier aspects of astral projection keep the reader enthralled. I found the tables helpful and an aid to creating some of my own. While it left me wanting to learn more about the religious side of the Craft, I will leave that for another one of Ms. RavenWolf's book.
Rating: Summary: very good for a solitary beginner Review: to ride a silver broomstick has helped me understand what witchcraft is all about and for a beginner like me, it made me feel like i'm the real me.
Rating: Summary: Very positive book Review: I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Witchcraft. I am not a witch, but I am happy that there are books like this being written, to educate others that just because someone practices an "alternative" religion it does not make them evil. Quite honestly I think witches should send a stong message to Hollywood to stop using some of Wicca's sacred symbols as being demonic. I had no idea that the pentagram had a positive meaning until researching Wicca, by reading this book and many others.
