Rating: Summary: Digs deep into the heart, right where the questions are. Review: Insecurity is a part of many of us. Loneliness, uneasiness, and constant questions about our significance, bring inner turmoil that continuously acts as an acid on our inner Self. Comfort comes to us when we feel that someone can understand these constraints. Be Here Now by Ram Baba Dass gave me hope in a time when hopelessness clung to me. The ideas presented in this art-filled bubble of joyful laughter told me that there was more to life than the terrors I had already seen.
Rating: Summary: Changed my life. Review: As a recovering alcoholic...I discovered this book when I was several years sober...however, I was still time tripping....back into the past with regrets and into the future with fear...this book taught me the joy in life is in the now.....I was searching for joy in the non-existant past and future. Thanks very much Ram Dass.....hope you are feeling better.
Rating: Summary: A basic tool book for the soul. Review: I have never read this book. I go to it when ever I find myself at some kind of personal impasse, depressed, or stymied any kind of activity in life. I go to the middle section, sometimes near the front, sometimes near the middle, and begin reading. I have NEVER gone to the end. At some point I discover I have the motivation, insight, understanding, or emotional "up" to get on with my life. I put down the book and do it. My own religious background is evangelical Christian. This book has a strong Hindu background and the fatalism of the Hindu religion usually repells me. But this book is different. The first and third sections are good basic guides on what an honest "good" person owes themself and society, and how to work off this debt in an efficient manner. When I first read it, I was struck by the obviousness of the observation that if you want to play good tennis, you go out and seek to play with tennis players who are better than you; if you want to improve your spiritual life, hang out with spiritually better people. And cook books are useless if you never get out in the kitchen and cook.
Rating: Summary: Great Cookbook for Creating Spirits Alike! Review: I really enjoyed this resource. Great book for students of psychology, new age and nlp. I liked the simplicity and style of this square sized tome. You'll like the unique intro to Spirit. It will lead you to many doorways.
Rating: Summary: even HE has dispensed with this hallucination. Review: He thinks all methods are traps now. bhagwan das, who is portrayed as enlightened in the book, is presently hawking a book here at amazon showing his life of the last 30 years and it's wreckage and confusion. What the heck, if it sells, the author makes some money, but isnce he is bedridden, does he need it?
Rating: Summary: Wake-Up Call to Consciousness Review: The archetypal bridge between the psychedelic experience and Eastern Mysticism. If you've tasted "the One", or wish to do so, read this book. Gone, Gone, Gone Beyond. Gone Beyond Beyond. Hail the Goer!

Rating: Summary: A Proverb in it's self... Review: This is a exellent book for those druggies. Curious about more then eurphoria of the drug. And willing to put time in to experencing philsophy rather then speaking about it. Therefore steping in a reality seprate then those that claim to be spiritual from drugs. Even tho Dr.Richard Alpert was popularized as a druggie he steps out of that being in to a spiritual one called Ram Dass. And explains how his life path has gone. Good to widen the narrowness of so-called LSD expanded minds of people.
