Rating: Summary: Gorgeous cards! Decent book. Review: I wish I could have the images from this deck enlarged, framed, and hung all over the walls of my home. I like to imagine the smells, sounds, tastes and textures of pictures, and the deck gives me plenty to work with. The plants seem ready to grow out of the edges of the cards, and the people *look* at you. Reading with these cards is a very satisfying visual experience. The book is nowhere near as satisfying. I know a little about tarot and nothing about voodoo or the Qabala, so I do have plenty to learn from the book. The information about voodoo, especially the descriptions of the characters portrayed on each card, is very useful. However, I find the divinations for each card unpleasantly limited and shallow, especially for the Court cards. When reading with these cards I find I'm better off using general tarot knowledge and the character descriptions to enhance my understanding of the images rather than the divinations offered by the book. Obviously I still enjoy the deck enough to give it a five, so the book isn't really a drawback. I'm starting to like the fact that its scanty divinations force me to turn to the cards themselves for interpretation. The images are more than rich enough to make up for the book's deficiencies.
Rating: Summary: faith Review: if you have been wanting to get in touch with this type of extremly ancient spirituality, here is your bridge. my only warning is that if you are an experienced psychic or energy worker,be determined, but go slow. the loa are the most ancient and primal of energies, and the artist and author of this set has done the uninitiated a great service. if this is your path, go with a whole heart. this may be the most powerful tool that i have ever bought. and the most rewarding.

Rating: Summary: One of the very best Tarot Decks out there Review: Sallie Ann Glassman's artwork is incredible and the Voodoo Tarot is one of the most powerful and intuitive I've ever used. It is a wonder that more people don't use this deck -- perhaps they are intimidated by the word "voodoo", but this deck is very user-friendly and the images are so rich and sensual. Check it out!
Rating: Summary: A must for Voodoo practioners that want to divine. Review: The art in this deck is what attracted me to it, originally. Great art, great depictions of the major and minor arcanas. The book is complete and full of knowledge. Not for tarot or vodou beginners. This is a serious deck, that conjures intense energies. Ask anyone that's used it.
Rating: Summary: Very Powerful, Very Divine, Very Dangerous Review: The book does not have a lot of spreading techniques, it does however teach about the wide aspect of voodoo and entities of loa (really wide, beyond the deck itself). Not only a divination tool, it is a really powerful (and REAL) tool to actually affect situations, such as undesirable outcomes you may have into desirable ones (with certain rituals of course). If you are a voodooist, go and explore this card. It offers many new NEw Orleans-style rituals that can be said as "extensions" to the existing voodoo rituals, which are highly applicable to this deck. If you are just interested in voodoo, MAKE SURE YOU DO A LOT OF RESEARCH ON VOODOO-RELATED SUBJECTS. The information in the book will not be sufficient for starters, and you can end up calling certain "external" entities who are not actualy Loa, but may get attracted to the deck while you are using it. REcently I have just had one of these, 'he' was indeed quite worrying, as quite a tragic character... and took me and my colleagues quite some trouble to persuade 'him' to leave me in peace. I have closed the deck in its dressing, and I will access it again after I have got further information. IT IS VERY POWERFUL AND LISTENS TO EVERY WORD YOU SAY WHILE YOU ARE USING IT, SO BE CAUTIOUS.
Rating: Summary: An excellent resource Review: The deck is absolutely beautiful, and the book is filled with useful information. Even someone who has studied New Orleans Voodoo will learn something from it. I have used the cards to entertain friends, and used a small portion of the book to write an anthropology paper. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Gorgeous Deck of Cards Plus Fun Reading of Cards For Friends Review: The reason I bought this set was for the fabulous art on the deck of cards. Being an artist, this was the key fact for me. They were worth the price alone. However, the set also includes an instructional book so that you can read the cards for another person. I learned how to do this. It wasn't hard. Many people said they found the readings very accurate but I believe these are much like astrology forecasts where everyone's readings seem to make some kind of sense. As for the cards being dangerous, as another reviewer maintains, I bought the set almost a decade ago and have never felt any dangerous vibes whatsoever. You can instantly become the hit of any gathering if you show up with this set in hand. People just absolutely love having their cards read from it. It is easy to carry around since it comes in a boxed set.

Rating: Summary: Full Spectrum of Emotions finds Expression in these Cards Review: This is a powerful and beautiful deck. For fun or academic research, it can provide much history and contemplation (and a good bibliography). For divination, you will find a syncretic mix of traditional tarot (Crowley throughout; Robert Wang's influence is heavy in the Temple/Court cards) and a specific brand of African and American nature-bound spirituality. The all-inclusive spirit of Voodoo practice pervades the deeply moving readings that can come from this set and its guidelines. Despite what an earlier reviewer said, I find nothing "dangerous," nothing to "fear" from this deck or the power it can potentially evoke (that is, for those looking for more than just a bit of fun, beauty and insight). For the believer in spirits and forces, there is true power to be tapped with this tool. You are constantly asked to look to your own "will" and true "Self" to guide you. Readings that forebode difficulties will not be evaded with this deck -- but guidance and assistance from the "Loa" is the key to meaningful or successful outcomes. If you use this deck, it is best to truly understand the etymological and spiritual meaning of "sacrifice" -- "to make sacred." The best lesson I have learned from this deck is spelled out clearly in the book: "To sacrifice is to create a channel cut deep into the earth, through which benefit flows both ways. To sacrifice is to give freely to the sacred, to move one's attention from acquisition to open-handed giving..."
