Rating: Summary: A must read for all conscious-creators on Earth Review: If you are prepared to change your world view and accept that things are not really as they seem it must be true that this continium is indeed a feed- back system and that our mass events are logical products of our collective unconsciousness. But it would appear that not all of us here are 'asleep' some of our fellow creatures have indeed made a deal with the devil(metaphor only!) Thanks to the author for this timely blueprint of a book.
Rating: Summary: Mind Blowing, Compelling and Dangerous Review: The most scholarly of "conspiracy" books that I've ever read. Packed with enough "facts" to convince even the most skeptical reader, "...and the truth shall set you free" is frightening in its verisimilitude. Unlike many books that seek to "expose" the Global Elite, Freemasonry, and government conspiracies, Icke's book seems remarkably free of the usual blaming and dogma associated with the genre. Will pique the interest of those who question authority and aggravate those who don't. One of the concepts-- that the "real influence" is wielded by beings (or an energy) from the Fourth Dimension called the Prison Warder Consciousness--seems more like fantasy/science-fiction than fact, unless viewed as metaphor. It reminded me of a Colin Wilson novel called "The Mind Parasites," which scared the blue Jesus out of me when I read it as a seventeen year old, half a lifetime ago. Icke's book managed to convince thi! s reader of sombunall (some but not all) of the information, but left me with the question of motive (besides the desire to nibble on souls as if we were spiritual apertifs). Why is this Prison Warder Consciousness busting our chops? And, just as important, are there people in power who are actively and successfully opposing the Global Elite? In spite of these points, I highly recommend this book. It will open your mind to another reality tunnel and just might scare you into being a better human being.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Expose Review: A must read if you want to know more about the real world you live in. Couldn't put it down till I finished it. My third reading currently trying to absorb and understand from a different prespective.
Rating: Summary: Excellent reading for anyone who has interest in life Review: I came across this book in a peculiar way while visiting Sweden, It reveals compelling information that cannot leave you but at ease with where you are in life, because if one chooses to see the real meaning behind what is going on in YOUR LIFE, at least look at this book! It will not hurt you!
Rating: Summary: Thought-provoking book on world trends - amazing Review: I found this book under esoteric and reading the first few chapters seemed to confirm it. But reading further provided me with the most thought-provoking perspective on worldwide political, social, business and religious trends than most that I have read. The treatise on global conspiracy is backed up with numerous examples featuring real famous figures. Kinda scary future - definitely worth opening your mind to this! Gems of wisdom embedded throughout.
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly sane, compared to most "Conspiracy" literature! Review: What I admire about this astonishing book, is that it sites direct quotations from other author's books at the bottom of the page, there you can go and check the quotation's directly (Providing you have the books in question). O.K, David Icke, seems to have taken some aspects of the early 80's television Sci-Fi show, "V", about reptilian alien takeover of this planet (And sourrounds!), and added the standard occult 4th dimentional entitiy collusion with Illuminati black brotherhoods, in order to clandestinely control all aspects of human social and scientific progress. However the takeover is a long time coming, or are they slowly getting us used to advanced technology in order to deliver the dystopian death blow to human freedom?I like the fact that he avoids the overly scriptural emphasis of most Christian Fundamentalist tracts. His handling of the Jewish banking and financial activities is generally good. I can't understand why he's been accused of being Anti-Semitic, he clearly emphasises that he is not, and goes to some pains to negate such critisim. The rise of Hitler is well covered, and this section really does pose the question, Hitler, No 1 Illuminati stooge?, or someone fully aware of what he/they were doing?. And just why was Hitler so opposed to the Freemasons? (apart from his Catholic origins!). If any of this is true, or not, it certainly coveres a lot of bases, it's not rabidly paranoid, has properly quoted sources/index, and is an absolutely amazing read. I like this book!, but like Punk Rock, you need to take a breather, and get back to normal afterwards!
Rating: Summary: A must read Review: The gentleman David Icke's meteoric rise really has been astonishing and I cannot praise him enough. This book gives a pretty thorough precis of his work to date particularly in his historical analysis. I would describe it as all the history you were never taught at school and were too nervous to ask. The less open minded will naturally shy away and automatically ridicule all his theories but those willing to take a second look at world events will love his fact reappraisal. If you were never quite convinced when your history teacher told you a little serb shooting a Duke started the first world war, or that all the major world revolutions and civil wars just started as spontaneous revolts by hmmmm those 'revolting peasants' then this is the book for you. The conclusions though despite Icke's admirable philosophy is that the Elite evil doers really do have the upper hand and are strengthening it daily through their puppet politicians and huge mega multinationals that seem intent on destroying the human spirit.
I sincerely believe that to promote this book and the message within is the duty of every reader. The more people aware of this information the more chance we have. Let's take them on.
Rating: Summary: And the mental asylum won't set me free Review: Icke really needs a stronger straight jacket - preferabaly one that covers his head. Reading this book one is struck by what a seriously deranged and twisted fruitcake Icke really is. Not only is he is a rabid facist who hates jews and banks, but he provides no factual evidence for ANY of his unsupported theories! Icke's leaps of logic are pathetic and his mental ramblings about freemasons as the evil "religion" of the world are laughable. I would guess that Icke himself is having the last laugh since he is probably an insider who is deliberately confusing the hell out of people in order to create mass FEAR. Don't be fooled by this books so-called "facts" - they are nothing more than carefully crafted bouts of disinformation designed to hypnotize and persuade the gullible masses. Keep an open mind and discover what Icke does NOT say - then you'll know the real truth. Unfortunately, Icke is too mentally unstable to even know whether the truth had hit him on the bum or not.
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Review: David Icke writes his books on two levels. At least to us, long suffering seekers for the truth, whatever it may be, this would seem true. Level 1 is the general conspiracy theorist, or rather should I say fact-ist. Level 2 is his spiritual and alien agenda. To him as he has firsthand experienced spiritualism, call it out of body travel or whatever, these are intimately connected. To his mind, it doesnt make sense (rightly) that suppression of awareness of immortality of living creatures and more above the board topics like World Terrorism, economics etc are unrelated. "How can they not be related...", I can imagine him thinking, "if the people who keep us in the dark are so powerful?" Real power comes from knowledge, it follows from this that a) if spirituality is true, someone is suppressing it or it would spread like wildfire and b) the people suppressing it must create an all encompassing suppression of almost every facet of life to be even moderately successful AND must be AWARE of it, not ignorant like the general populace.
So, if you are open to the idea of spirituality and other "esoterica" like aliens meddling in human affairs, this book is a must read. If you dont believe, or dont care about that and want to concentrate on direct conspiracy facts, I would recommend other writers who provide more in depth easily verifiable evidence, as Noam Chomsky for example.
Rating: Summary: Why are all critiques of David's books ad hominem? Review: Ad Hominem means to attack the person not the work itself.
Laughing, mocking, savaging or dissecting is all very well, but what David writes is not unintelligible or beyond the realms of possibility, merely hard to swallow. I agree that his research methods would not necessarily pass the rigorous criteria used by scholars in other fields, but this does not mean that what he says is not true either.
From a rationalistic perspective, David's assertions would be classed as speculative - but this does not necessarily make them less true.
Before the champions of science, rationality, 'common-sense' and the status quo get too carried away, are they aware that post-Hume, ALL of western science is shown to be a very detailed extrapolation based on a speculation - the speculation that there exist laws of 'science' that can be deduced from repeated empirical observations. There is no proof whatsoever for this conjecture, as even that arch-rationalist Bertrand Russell is forced to concede in his History of Western Philosophy. I am not saying do not use this conjecture as a basis for action, but I am saying do not mistake this for an ultimate or final or demonstrably true truth. Post-Godel, western mathematics has also been shown to have a fundamentally speculative basis.
So whose speculation is right? I do not know the answer. But I do know from my time at the University of Oxford that the claims made on behalf of science, rationality and the modern, western world-view are for the most part a bunch of hokum, designed to support the insufferable and colossal arrogance that 'the white man' knows best.
Do I dislike white people? Of course not. Not only do I consider Plato, Dante, Berkeley, Kant, Blake, Wordsworth and Whitehead to be some of the finest and most sensitive minds to have graced our planet, their views also remove the number one key objection to David's reptilian thesis. All of the above would have laughed out of court the imbecilic and infantile idea that most modern-educated westerners hold (usually without even being aware that they hold it), namely that this world of ours projected through our five senses and our brains, is the only viable or valid or truly existing reality. Nearly all hard-headed spiritual teachers, past and present, would fall over themselves with laughter at this sweet-baby notion. Traditionally religious people would shake their heads in sorrow.
Prove it that there's more to reality than this world, you might say. I don't need to prove it because I don't have a problem with the idea of multiple dimensions of reality. In fact I don't see how there could be anything else. In that case I won't believe it you might say. Fine, stay locked up in your own mental prison, I might say, what do I care? And co-incidentally, this is also what David Icke says, only unlike me, he seems to care enough to devote his life trying to make you aware of the prison-reality you are living in.
Like I said, I personally do not know if what David says about satanism and bloodlines and secret societies and inter-dimensional control is true or not. But I'll say this much. His theories are not only highly plausible, but they are far more enlivening than the palpable crap and arrant nonsense that passes for reality in the mainstream western world.
To my fellow easterners, I say thank heavens that a western man has finally spoken something believable, and to my western friends, I say explore your own traditions without the blinkers that the monumental social-conditioning of the twentieth century has provided you with.
