Summary: SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE
Review: One of the most beautiful card-decks I discovered until now (beside the Haindl-Tarot). Excellent to meditate with. Tougher in divination-meanings than most of the "New-Age-Tarots", but because of that, much closer to reality. The fools journey opens a gate to spiritual growth and self-discovery. Nothing more to say, I simply love it :-).

Summary: Beautiful Cards and well written book
Review: The book helps to put the symbolism of the pictures on the cards to meaning. Well written and easy to understand. They did their homework. My favorite part is the story of the major arcana. The journey of the fool.

Summary: A mixed bag, not for beginners
Review: The Sacred Circle tarot is a lovely deck with beautiful, rich colours and a decidedly British Neo-Pagan slant. I would not recommend it for beginners, either beginning Tarot readers or those just starting on a Pagan path.

Five stars for the Major Arcana! There has been some re-ordering with which I do not necessarily agree, and some of the image substitution is difficult to integrate, but generally these cards are easy to understand and welcoming as well as beautiful. Easy to understand, that is, if you've been a practicing pagan for a while and have a good grounding in the underlying mythology. Oherwise you might have trouble.

The minor arcana is not so well done. Although they purport to show full images, many of the numbered suit cards are little better than pip cards and very hard to read. There are little one-word definitions on each card, but I find this annoying rather than helpful. There are inconsistencies in the imagery -- e.g., wands might appear as spears or arrows or wands depending on the card. Sometmes this is explained in the book, but I'm a firm believer in internal card logic, so I found the necessity of explanation irritating.

Throughout the deck the imagery and symbology is extremely personal to the makers. In most cases their actualy interpretations haven't changed so, once again, an experienced reader will be able to get it fairly easily but a beginner may not get the connections. There are also places where the main symbol of the card is either practically invisible or pretty much unintelligible without recourse to the book. This is something I really don't like. You can read these cards intuitively, but it takes some doing.

The book is a thick one and it gives detailed descriptions of every card, as well as an overview of the fool's journey and several new spreads you might want to try.

I probably would not have bought these cards if I had been able to examine a full deck in advance, but they are turning out to be quite popular with clients. Readings with them so far have stressed personal responsibility and introspection rather than outward action, and they tend to have a gentler feel than readings with some other decks. This is a good addition to a Pagan reader's toolkit -- not a starting point, but a deck with which to explore a particular focus more deeply.

Summary: A solid deck
Review: The Sacred Circle Tarot is designed to be used by Celtic Pagans, and has a very British-Wicca feel. Franklin and Mason have tossed aside all the Cabalistic and Golden Dawn symbolism you're used to; all of the symbolism you'll see here is derived from Celtic folklore. There is a lot of attention to detail--the cards are replete with Celtic sacred sites, animals, and plants. Everything you'll see is very thought-out and well-researched.

The cards are done using modern computer-imaging techniques. Many of them are stunningly beautiful (the High Priestess, which could be an alternate cover for Mists of Avalon), many are very evocative of their meaning (Initiation, which is represented by a labyrinth leading to the Cauldron of Ceridwen). The Majors, for the most part, are great. Getting into the Minors, the Cups are especially gorgeous, while the Discs occasionally leave me cold. Some of the cards aren't very intuitive, but that's not a big deal since this is one of the decks that provides a little one-word caption on the card to help you out. All in all, a solid and beautiful deck.

Summary: This is a lovely deck and the guide is fantastic
Review: The Sacred Circle tarot set is a great set for beginners who want to learn the art of tarot reading. The cards are beautiful, complete with pictures of real people in mystical scenes. I believe many of them are taken in Ireland. They allow the reader to get a feel for the cards and the book is one that allows you to understand the major and minor arcana and learn the tarot quickly and easily. Has good examples of different spreads and explains the information in depth.

Summary: Very Beautiful and Spiritual Deck
Review: This deck is as powerful as it is beautiful. The readings are mind-blowing: they reveal your sub-conscious VERY deeply, more so than many other decks. Very insightful and thought provoking.

Summary: Celtic experience
Review: This deck was my first experience of the Celtic mythology, and I keep coming back to it. It's attention to detail and pictures blend to make it a very interesting and informative way to approach Celtic lifeview, besides making it a good deck to read with. I expecially like the pictures of sites sacred to this ancient religion scattered throughout. A nice find.

Summary: A beautiful, complex deck which needs an experienced reader
Review: This deck would be a powerful aid to insight just by virtue of its artwork, but the interpretations are also strong and as well-grounded in psychology as they are in pagan thought. I agree that it is unfortunate that the backs indicate whether or not the cards are reversed, although I often read with all cards upright, and just let myself be drawn to the reversed interpretation when it's appropriate. A bigger problem to me, and the reason this has not become my everyday deck, is that the meanings of several minors have been changed - significantly! (Two of Swords is Opposition, rather than Intimacy, for example.) This is a good deck for a reader who has had a thorough grounding in basic tarot archetypes and standard variations.

Summary: A truly magickal deck filled with wonder and dreams
Review: This is a beautiful deck. As a Two-Spirit Shaman and international energy author (Chi Gung), I am always looking for new tarot decks to help me reach my highest potential in helping and healing plants, animals, and people. I've found what I've been searching for with this wonderful deck.

If you really want to explore who you are and also to learn to tap into the universal energy (Chi) that surrounds and binds all of us together, then I highly recommend this beautiful set of cards.

Buy them, use them, and watch your world change as your dreams come to life.
