Rating: Summary: Fun but... Review: This book is beautiful to look at with lovely illustrations and two pages devoted to each birthday. There's also some general information about astrology in additional chapters. And it's a great way to break the ice with new friends or have fun with your family. However, if you've ever had your chart done or have studied astrology before reading this, you'll be surprised at how innacurate this book is. Serious students shouldn't bother.
Rating: Summary: Not good Review: I did not like it. I check 10 days, and they were all way off from the truth. Only wackjobs believe this stuff
Rating: Summary: I'm not into this stuff, but this book is eerily accurate... Review: A friend of mine loves this kind of stuff, and, as a skeptic, I've always been dead-set against it (this makes for some heated arguments!) But she convinced me to take a look at my own birthday, and I was astonished! Then she showed me my sister's, and I was even more astonished! Well, this sort of activity becomes pretty addictive, and I must have looked up at least 25 birthdays in that one sitting. All were dead-on accurate. Then I borrowed the book and went through the birthdays of everyone whose birthday I know, convinced that somewhere, somehow, this book had to be wrong. It wasn't! The ONLY reason I'm not giving it five stars is because I'm still a skeptic. But so far, this book hasn't given my skepticism any leeway....
Rating: Summary: A Disappointment Review: I bought this book thinking it was going to be really interesting and different, but I was wrong. This book was really a disappointment because not only does it generalize everything about a person but it was totally untrue. My birthday information did not match anything the author stated. I even checked my sister's birthday to see if her description was true and unfortunately it was not true either. In addition, this book seemed totally outdated. For example, the whole book is in black and white with pale and fuzzy pictures. I was not satisfied to say the least.
Rating: Summary: the world's first fun reference book Review: I first saw this book when my friend showed me it. All of my other friends'descriptions were so accurate it wasn't even funny. I then wanted to check it out myself. Unfortunately,so did everyone else at my school. I finally figured that the only way I'd get my hands on that book was to buy my own copy. Now I have it and it's great. This is one reference book I like to read!
Rating: Summary: Fun but wrong, wrong, wrong Review: Okay, as any astrologer may know, the planets influence a person on the day they were born. And as any astrologer knows, the planets are always different every year, even if it's on the same day!!!!!Example: If you are a Capricorn born on January 1, in 1982, the planets were completely different (despite the sun being in Capricorn), than someone who was born that very same day, sixty years ago. This book claims to use astrology; if so, they would have to acknowledge this fact. No two people born on the same day have to necessarily be alike. Other than their sun sign, all the other planets aligned on the day of their birth could be completely different from one another, alas, they are NOT alike at all!!! This book is fun, but I could choose dozens of traits from other birthday profiles that fit me exactly. One trait for my birthday was 'spontaneous' and that is definitely false. People like to analyze and be validated, therefore this book is fun to read--but please don't take it seriously. As an astrologer, I must warn you.
Rating: Summary: A Magnificently Personal Tool.... Review: Have you ever wondered what kind of a person you are?? Have you ever wondered what kind a person your better-half is, or your friends?? What about your connection to the stars?? Well, this book can tell you just that. If you're interested in "personology," than this is the perfect book for you. It is an easy layout, easy to read, and is just plain fantastic. The book goes through each day of the year and breaks down the common characteristics of that person, throws in a few notables who share the same birthday, the basic horoscope information, and a few extras. For the most part, I've found the book to be quite on, characteristic wise. I've shown many-a-friend the book, and they all agree to some extent. (The marriage and kid things don't quite apply yet, but time will only tell.) Younger people may not match up, but give it time. I've owed the book for a few years now and really enjoy pulling it out every so often. It makes a wonderful read for those who wonder, who "believe" and even for a larf.
Rating: Summary: A skeptic, wowed! Review: I bought this book for a friend, and decided to look up my birthday just for kicks. It was so accurate that it was creepy! I looked up my husband's birthday, and it was even more accurate. My cousin, who shares my mother's birthday, was visiting, and we looked up his birthday, convinced that one descriptiopn couldn't possibly describe both of them. But on that day it mentioned 2 types born on that day, and again described them both to an uncanny accuracy. I have always been a skeptic, but now I am actrually re-evaluating my beliefs.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorites! Review: This book is alot of fun. Eerily accurate for almost everyone I have looked up. Highly Recommended.
Rating: Summary: A valuable business tool! Review: I retired as a Computer Programmer, and am now a high priced fishing guide. When I book future clients (90% returns, and referral!), I apologize and say that I need their DOB's (Date's Of Birth), for the state record book. I then look each persons individual DOB up in this book, before they show up to fish. After first reading their detailed personality profile in the book, it is easy to get along with them, and everyone has a good time. In over 100 customers, it has never been wrong! These days, it has been my experience, that only about 1 in 20 people are into horoscopes. I find that it is best to use some other excuse to get their birth DAY. Most will give the day easily, it is the year that is personal. Enjoy!
