Rating: Summary: Finally Review: In 1973, I discovered the Seth books, channeled through Jane Roberts, and from then on read them as soon as they were published. Seth laid out the philosophical and spiritual cornerstones of "you create your own reality," but Roberts died before Seth ever explained the nuts and bolts of HOW. Laura Day explains how in just 142 pages. This book is a gem. Get out your pen and draw your circle and make your wish. Then watch your life change.
Rating: Summary: Very concrete information on the power of positive thinking Review: Laura Day does a wonderfully concise and concrete job on the power of positive thinking. We all know it's a nice concept but never knew how to make it our reality. She breaks the process down into steps which are easy to understand & implement. Especially good information on why to expect roadblocks, how to interpret them and what to do about them. This book was a good balance of thought and action.

Rating: Summary: The most powerful book I know for getting what you want. Review: Laura Day's book "The Circle" is a deceptively small, deceptively simple book. In its pages lie the secrets to getting whatever it is you want. I have read and re-read this book many times since I was first given a copy two years ago, and in that time my life has undergone many dramatic changes. I credit this book with creating powerful new paradigm shifts in my brain as well as powerful new energy shifts in my life. I encourage everyone to read it and to apply its lessons to their own lives.
Rating: Summary: Pactical and effective Review: Of the hundreds of books I have read on intuition, manifestation and consciously creating our own lives, "The Circle" stands apart as the most practical and truly effective. Other books are often either too esoteric to be put into real-world practice or require too much of an investment of time outside of our busy lives for meditation or other excercises. This book is written with the knowledge that intuition is an aspect of human experience that belongs to all of us and mastering it brings success to anyone.
The Circle is a practice that gently merges into your life, until one day you realize that everything has changed. You have become aware of your life in all new ways, you have become conscious in your creations and the master of your own path. The Circle is meant to be lived and practiced, fulfilled and celebrated each and every day.
Rating: Summary: The Potential of a Single Coherent Wish! Review: The Circle covers material that will seem familiar to those who have read Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich and others), Norman Vincent Peale (The Power of Positive Thinking), Deepak Chopra (Creating Affluence), and Anthony Robbins (Awaken the Giant Within). Readers who found those books helpful will find that The Circle brings their understanding of the power of focus to a new and more refined level. The Circle is especially good for clarifying the psychological states that lead to accomplishing important desires. Although the book refers to concepts that many associate with spiritual beliefs, Ms. Day encourages you to see the book as independent of any particular religion or set of spiritual beliefs. She also says that it is just fine to reframe her words here to fit into your own religious or spiritual beliefs. The book's key point is that "what you perceive, what you conceive, and what you create are one . . . ." The concept is developed in three parts: initiation ("In your initiation, you discover your one true wish and put it into the language of The Circle."), apprenticeship, and mastery. These three parts are broken in turn into a total of nine steps: (1) Intention -- You pick a single wish that is "specific, positive, passionate, and present." (2) Embodiment -- You create "reality" tales and songs, and meditate in ways that make the wish more real to yourself. (3) Ritual -- You follow new rituals that you create to help you achieve your wish and eliminate old habits that would undermine you. (4) Finding Luck (or Synchronicity) -- You learn to look for meaningful coincidences and tap into them. Often, opportunity will look like a problem, a setback, or a distraction. Pay attention! (5) Make Room for Your Wish -- "Open your hand and let go of things that you have onto out of habit for years . . . ." (6) Achieve Coherence -- Eliminate overt cross-purposes that pull you away from your wish. (7) Eliminate External Roadblocks -- See each one as an "inspiring challenge" that brings you closer to achieving your wish. (8) Eliminate Subconscious Roadblocks -- Let go of unconscious and outdated wishes, and hidden agendas. In attempting to deal with these other intentions, you may realize that your wish needs to be changed to better reflect what you really want. (9) Create and Expand a Community to Support You -- "Give what you have. Ask for what you need." The epilogue is especially good at bringing these ideas together. I especially liked the argument that both the past and the future exist now in the present. By re-examining the past in the present, you can give the past new meaning that can power the future fulfillment of your wish. Each of the nine steps contains assignments to help you apply the book's thinking more accurately. I found these assignments to be very brief, but highly effective. As I read the book, I applied its process to one of my favorite wishes. What I realized from this experience is that I have some issues in step 8 that I need to deal with. That was a very helpful insight to me. Prior to reading this book, I would not have realized all of the inner conflicts that I need to resolve before I can make the fullest progress. For me, that was a highly beneficial realization. I have no way of knowing what you will learn, but I suspect that you will gain value from seeing new issues that you can deal with in at least one area. If the book's main strength is that it explains the psychological states of implementing intention very well, the book's main weakness is that it does not explain all of its concepts. You are left hanging with some of the same statements that bother people who read Napoleon Hill. For example, you are a "sender and receiver." I take that to mean that we share our intentions with people, and we receive questions, suggestions, and support that we must be ready to notice and employ. In the context of the way the concept is used, you feel like some sort of metaphysics is being described without any detail or support. Anyone who wants to create more coherence in their life will find this book to be very valuable, if they do the assignments in a conscientious way. After you begin to experience mastery in applying The Circle, think about how you could introduce this information to others in ways that will make them more effective in achieving their deepest wishes. After they are having success, ask them how you can build your mastery to a higher level. Pick worthy goals, and commit to them with integrity!
Rating: Summary: Interesting outline of how wishes can develop Review: The Circle is an interesting introduction to how wishes have been made into reality by people. It breaks down the mechanics into 9 steps divided into 3 sections. This makes the book easy-to-follow and the author provides some examples of how each element works. There are explanations that seem aligned with some concepts surrounding quantum physics and how thought affects matter. Definite statements by the author can get the reader thinking about their wish from a different perspective.
I found it interesting but preferred to have a more grounded approach to wish fulfillment since I like case examples of successful wishers. An earlier published book, titled "Heart's Desire" by Sonia Choquette had more excercises which were useful in breaking down and implementing aspects of wish manifesting. Choquette's book came out five years earlier and also used a 9-step approach. The Circle was introduced to me by a friend of mine and it did get my "appettite" going to create some new realities for myself. However, I was left still a little hungry at the end of The Circle ... and synchronicity lead me to Heart's Desire. So there is something to this book's chapter about synchronicity and events conspiring in one's favor. However, it was through the Heart's Desire's grounded, tactic-oriented, and heart-centered methods that really got my wishes going.
Overall, The Circle offers a gentle intro to those new to the world of being their own wish giver. It is a book that starts the journey to other tools in the creation of life you love.
Rating: Summary: Life changing Review: The Circle is basically an outline of steps on how to change your life. It isn't mystical - these are practical steps to take in order to achieve success. The book is short and the message is simple. You make the commitment by making a wish first and then Laura Day takes you through each step in achieving this wish. She helps you to identify common mistakes made and why you haven't reached your goal until now. She also tells you what you should expect in keeping with The Circle. Sometimes what looks like a negative result is actually a positive one and she encourages you to perservere by showing you what will come of completing the steps. I highly recommend this book even over Laura Day's other books which are longer and can get overly involved. This book will help you with career, love, money or anything else that you've always desired in life but have never been able to grasp.
Rating: Summary: Not a new idea Review: The process explained in this book is not just a theory or philosophy. The truths here, this time explained by Laura Day are simple, scientific fact. What surprises me, is that no one has compared this book to Lynn Grabhorn's "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting". I think this book has gotten more press because it is more eloquenly written and has a much prettier dust jacket. The two authors may use different words and techniques to describe their findings, but the core of the matter is the same. I have seen the results of living within "the Circle" myself and I plan on using its energy for the rest of my life. This method, I believe, however, will only work for the openminded individual, for that is how "the Circle" works, by having the capacity to rewire the way you have thought and felt your whole life. Therefore, I highly recommend either of these books to anyone who regularly thinks outside the box.
Rating: Summary: The little book with Big ideas Review: The subtitle, "How The Power of a Single Wish Can Change Your Life," says it all. The circle is a place where you align your energy (thought, word and deed) with the universal energy and focus it on making your wish come true. Day takes the reader through the three phases of the circle - Initiation, Apprenticeship and Master. Each phase contains three elements or steps to total nine steps in all. Of course, you're never really finished. Once you manifest one wish, you start the process all over again with another wish. What I love about the book is that it gives the reader something to do. After each essay explaining the "element," the author gives an action that the reader can do to illustrate concept. Readers are encouraged to live their wish or "New Reality" now. As for the actual writing, it's a small book and a very easy read. If you follow all the steps, however, it's a book that will be with you for a while. And if you do follow the steps to mastery, your wish (whatever it is) will certainly come true.
