Summary: See Reality In A New Light...
Review: This is an excellent book. I have studied a number of works on this subject matter and found this one to be the most well-organized, comprehensive and understandable.

My daughter is a political science major and she is reading "Rule By Secrecy" also -- she told me, "If there really is a power behind the government running our world, I want to know about it!" Mr. Marrs book should be required reading in our schools. If anything, it will cause one to think and question which is vital to our personal sovereignty. And by the way, other books that support/corroborate the informaton in this book are "Trance-Formation of America" by Cathy O'Brien/Mark Phillips and "The Biggest Secret" by David Icke (though both may challenge your comfort zone even more than this one.)

"Rule By Secrecy" is written in such a way that it is easily digestable and a great read for anyone who questions reality even a little bit. Skeptics find this work and others like it confrontive and threatening because they demand "proof". Well, that is an illusion because the "powers that be" manufacture proof on a daily basis through the media. Please consider that if you are addicted to a steady diet of newspapers and/or watching the news daily, you are perhaps being influenced by only a few (of many) very powerful forms of mind control. When you begin to wake up and question the way things are your heart will provide you real proof. The ability to think and discern using your intuition and feeling nature is the only true freedom there is.

I applaud Mr. Marrs for his courage. Reading this book will cause you to view our world in a new light -- buy it and educate yourself if you dare.

Summary: The State of the Art in Conspiracy Theory books
Review: I have read quite a few C.T. books, but this one is by far the best. Do not read unless you are willing to have your core beliefs and faith seriously shaken. I was not wild about the meandering way it was set up, but that is easy to overlook because of the content. Also, I was not too wild about a couple of small innuendi about alien/Illuminati connections. That goes too far for me. Buy it!!

Summary: One Regrettable Omission
Review: The book is definitely on a grand scale from the point of view of research and effort. Regrettably it has no bibliography but only the suggestion that one can find the quoted material by checking out "any encyclopedia" for works by the authors quoted. Surely not an easy task and in many cases not even likely to be successful. Marrs must have been too worn out by his research to add this important feature normally found in any book which relies heavily on researched material.

Summary: A book that forces the reader to question our notions.
Review: I completed reading Rule By Secrecy last night and am left with a considerable bag of thoughts, questions and concerns-concerns about who we are and how much of what is happening and has happened in world affairs is "real". For one book to accomplish this much is truly a herculean task and to trivialize the many conclusions expressed by Marrs is to fail to understand the true enormity of the deceit being worked on the population of the world. This is not to say that I accept unquestionably all the author's conclusions but the thrust of the book is valid and those conclusions dealing with the ability of the popular media to purvey the truth of international events is decidedly valid. As world citizens we are at the mercy of those that feed us the news with their own commentary and we accept their version to the exclusion of non-mainstream media. This is the true import of Marrs' book-we know nothing but that which we are allowed. This book should be read by any person who wishes to be more than a passive member of the planet.

Summary: Rule by Secrecy: The Hidden History That Connects the Ttial
Review: As a person who has always been interested in history, this book has made me think twice about the true historical record. I have always had doubts and questions about the origin and early history of man, and Marrs' book has convinced me that the history that we have been taught is, for what ever the reason, incorrect. The institutions which I have unquestionably believed in have another agenda which may effect most of us adversely. If you want to begin a journey to find out what really has been going on in history, you must read this book. He reveals alternate possibilities and explanations for historical realities that make logical sense when put in the context of the history of the world.

Summary: This will open your mind!
Review: It has been a long time since I read a book that pulled so many sources together in a comprensive book to explain so many unexplained things. Is Marrs right? Maybe. Does his explanation make sense. Certainly. That's the problem. He is so logical and draws from so many sources that you have to really stop and think. He could be right. When I got to the last chapter which explains the teaching of the mystery schools, I was hoping I would not be treated to another "We desceneded from aliens" theory. But this time, what he says actually could be true. That's the trouble with this entire book.It could all be true.Beware, secret elite who rules the world. Your secret is out. This is a must read for any conpsiracy theory buff!Myke Feinman. Summary: Jim Marrs shows his true colors: Paranoia!
Review: In this screamingly funny (albeit unintentionally so) piece of hackwork, Jim Marrs finally shows off his true colors: he's a paranoid, seethingly stupid person who apparently finds big buckage in regurgitating long-discredited theories about world conspiracies. Marrs's books and their ilk are perfect fits for people who feel helpless in today's world, and are a perfect substitute for personal or social change ... or rational thought, for that matter. The difference between this and the conspiracies in "The Illuminatus Trilogy" is that Anton Wilson was kidding; here, Marrs doesn't even seem to understand that there ever was a joke. Good for a laugh -- barely.

Summary: Rule by Association
Review: Not a bad book at all. Marrs provides succinct synopses of prior material, saving the intrepid voyager thousands of hours of wading through weighty -- and often all but unreadable tomes. His journalistic style also lowers the temperature in an area that tends to get heated by self-aggrandizement and fear-hype, enabling cooler thinking to engage with what is, after all, a difficult and often tortuous subject. His "Sources" section provides adequate citation for further reading, which is a big plus. All too many books in this area are long on speculation and very short on documentation and attribution. One would wish that a bibliography separate from Notes had been included, and more, that some deeply considered reason for why we should fear Global Government was provided. All in all Rule by Secrecy, while offering nothing new or particularly insightful in the area of global conspiracy since time immemorial, provides the neophyte or the seasoned veteran concise summations and profitable sources for further reading.

Summary: Very Good Overview of Conspiracy but.....
Review: After listening to Jim Marrs on a couple of talk showspromoting his theories and new book, I looked forward with anticipation to reading the book. I have two major impressions:

1. The first two thirds of the book are excellent in re-capping the history of various secret societies. His conclusions are pretty convincing. But, I have read similar theorizing from numerous other authors, (Holy Blood, Holy Grail; Ancient Plan of Secret Societies, etc.) that the author does a credible job of summarizing. Not much original but a great job of synthesis.

2. My dissappointment with the latter part of the book is the discussion of all the esoteric theories such as Alien control of Secret Societies. While reading this section, I did not understand why he shouldn't have thrown a section on the Kingdom Of Evil, run by Satan himself and his personal control of these societies. My advice: Take the last few chapters with a grain of salt but re-read the first half of the book...

Summary: Read it or not
Review: Having read several books on the origins and practices of Freemasonry, I was not expecting anything new. This book blew me away though. For anyone who has never read books on the topic of Freemasonry, secret societies, and mankind's real history, this is a fantastic place to start. Jim Marrs' style of writing is easy to read, yet reinforced with numberous facts and research. I am looking forward to reading more by Mr. Marrs in the future.
