Summary: The Paradigm Shocker
Review: It may be true that there are other books out there by William Bramley, David Icke, and others that cover some of the same material that Mr. Marrs covers in this book but that isn't the whole story. Anyone that writes that you should save your money on this one has to make you think. I mean, I bought this book just because of the negative reviews I read to see if I would agree. After finishing the entire book I have to say this is a must read for the entire population of America. It seems to me that anyone saying it is just another boogie man story is either in denial or is following an agenda to keep this secret. It is a book of the facts that are out there for anyone to see. On some issues I simply couldn't believe the information I read so I searched out and found the book "Secrets of the Federal Reserve" by Eustace Mullins at my local library to confirm this authors claims. Several more times I found information I simply could not bring myself to believe and each time I found that Mr. Marrs is correct. There is no gray area here. Its black and white. Yes, Mr. Marrs quotes some of the more controversial authors, and yes, he shares his own views at times, but for the most part the entire book is a book of objective information interpretted just the way I would interpret it myself had I been the one who researched it. If you are the type that just can't let go of your own little paradigm of the Universe don't buy this book. It will shake you up. I have read books like this before but this is the best of the best to come out on this topic that I've seen. If you really think that our Presidents are elected and you think you have a pretty good bead on things you will be rudely awakened to the fact that they are selected, not elected after reading all of this information. You will realize as I did that the Mass Media is joined at the hip with the secret societies and Governments of the world. We've been deceived and the truth is starting to break the damn of secrecy down. Let us all hope that by the time the damn breaks it isn't too late. There is a boogie man alright, several families of them in fact, and they laugh at the citizens of the United States and the world all the way to the bank everyday. Read this book before it gets banned. It will rock your world.

Summary: Very Good Overview of Conspiracy but.....
Review: After listening to Jim Marrs on a couple of talk shows promoting his theories and new book, I looked forward with anticipation to reading the book. I have two major impressions:

1. The first two thirds of the book are excellent in re-capping the history of various secret societies. His conclusions are pretty convincing. But, I have read similar theorizing from numerous other authors, (Holy Blood, Holy Grail; Ancient Plan of Secret Societies, etc.) that the author does a credible job of summarizing. Not much original but a great job of synthesis.

2. My dissappointment with the latter part of the book is the discussion of all the esoteric theories such as Alien control of Secret Societies. While reading this section, I did not understand why he shouldn't have thrown a section on the Kingdom Of Evil, run by Satan himself and his personal control of these societies. My advice: Take the last few chapters with a grain of salt but re-read the first half of the book.

If you really want to move to the next level of this topic get a copy of "The Hope of the Wicked" by Ted Flynn, which was just published recently by Maxkol. Also, if you have a brain for detail and arcana read: "Foucault's Pendulum" by Umberto Eco. Eco has done an outstanding job of telling the whole story of Conspiracy with historical facts about secret societies and their operations today. It is a novel but in Eco's unique manner the truth is hidden but available in the pages of the story. It is all there. The challenge is for you to find the TRUTH.

Summary: Most thorough and "digestable" synopsis of the 'BIG LIE.'
Review: If only this concise, well-written, beautifully organized book had been published 20 years ago! I have long searched for a book to recommended to sqeaumish readers. This work represents the most thorough and "digestable" synopsis of what is happening in the world. If only booksellers would take it out of the occult section and place it in current affairs and government sections, more readers might be exposed to it. My favorite reads in the last year have been 'Alien Rapture' by Brad Steiger and 'Unconventional Flying Objects' by Dr. Paul Hill. Really worth checking out.

"You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free!" If you consider yourself a thinking person, set your religion and your politics aside and BUY IT IMMEDIATELY! I highly recommend this book as well as "Alien Agenda," also by Marrs.

Summary: Unbelievable.....until you read it.
Review: I bought this book after reading some of it first at a local store. I thoroughly enjoyed Jim Marr's book on the JFK assasination but I have always balked at the idea of a vast global conspiracy dominated by the most rich and powerful in the world...until I read this book. Jim Marrs has taken on the most controversial subjects like the JFK assassination, the alien phenomena, and now global secret societies and does it in the most professional and factual manner. His bibliography is almost as long as the book itself and he takes care to document all of his amazing findings in his books. Now in Rule By Secrecy, he shows how our world is being dominated and controlled by the most rich and powerful men in government and in banking; how wars are being manipulated; and how we are being duped by a media in cahoots. He takes what, at one time, seemed impossible and shows you that it makes perfect sense. He asks the questions about the Trilateral Commission, the Federal Reserve, the Council of Foreign Relations, and the Bilderberger Meetings that no one in our main stream media will ask. For example, How does our president, along with hundreds of heads of state, CEO's of major multi-national corporations, heads of media, and bankers meet secretly every year funded by tax payer money and we never hear about it or what is discussed in these meetings? Read the book to find out and I guarantee you will never trust what you hear on the evening news again.

Summary: The Hidden Global Agenda & the Myth of Civilized History
Review: The information in this book is mind altering. It will change your view of the future and the authorized history of the world forever. Read it and you will look at every headline, every issue and every politician from now on with different eyes and a wizened perception. What's so staggering about the premise of this book, is that the myth our culture is being fed is is so big, so huge and pervasive, it can't be seen even in the light of day by the majority of people. And when you finally realize its breadth and scope it's seems too perposterous to accept. Yet Marrs will show you the wall of deception, brick by brick, page by page. Funny thing is that most of us are already familiar with a great deal of the factoids, stories, rumors and tidbits of research. But like tiny pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, they don't make sense individually, not without the context of the big picture. Marrs has assembled all the tiles together in a timeline to form a huge panorama that vaults our entire history from present day to ancient origins of civilzation, only then does the true story and plot line of history reveal itself with fascinating clarity, undeniable motives and devastating plausibility. If you're a seeker of truths, this book is the reality check. It may not be 100% ironclad, as Marrs himself will admit, but the picture is still valid and what was hidden is now clear. And its far stranger and more gripping than any fiction we could dare to invent.

Summary: Excellant Book, a real shocker, highly recommended
Review: I was very pleased that Jim Marrs wrote this book. I have met him, he is a excellant speaker and researcher. Jim Marrs elaborates on similar themes from The Gods of Eden, by Bramley, Bloodline of the Holy Grail by Gardner, and books by David Icke like The Biggest Secret. However, Marrs adds his credibility to the conclusions about the influence of Secret Societies, the cause of Wars, and conspiricies of the international banking corporations run by such groups as the CFR and the world's top banking families. Read it, you well find it shocking but true. I myself have done much research in this area and it seems unfortunately to be true. How can we do something about it is the question?

Summary: Marrs does it again, in black, white and 'Grey'...
Review: Jim Marrs brings his usual insight to this book, more than any other one the easiest to understand of all of the "Total Truth" books (volumes that aren't just focused on one area, persay). He begins with a basic panoramic view of the world today, and then he brings us, one backstep at a time, throughout history, explaining Wars, Revolutions, myths, (I learned about the origins of the sinister connotations of Friday The 13th here before I read The Da Vinci Code) and, of course, Secret Societies and their hidden agendas. It is all here, probably as well researched as any of this information can be, for you to decide for yourself. The Icke-ish Reptillian theory maybe the hardest for people to buy, but, as one reviewer somewhere pointed out, if we can evolve from Monkeys, why not another animal? And if you have trouble believing huge Reptiles once ruled the earth, go talk to a Palentologist. Four Stars instead of Five because the Civil War chapter doesn't build a strong enough case for the possibility Rothschild influence. Definite must read, great place to start for Hidden Agendas

Summary: Conspriacy theory, little support, suprise?
Review: Author makes a number of very interesting claims. His support for the claims is minimal, often quotes apparently taken out of context. Does the author understand Greek|Roman|Babylonian|Sumerian mythology? I have to disagree with many of the mappings made by the author trying to pigeonhole these different ways to organize the world as a surjection. I particularly dislike the sparse evidence of alien ancestors and previous nuclear wars on earth. I hope you don't think that my review is a spoiler because I told you that. If there was a previous atomic bomb detonation, show me the evidence. This should not be difficult, there should be a LOT of it. I also wish there were more solid evidence for these secret societies. What really needs to be done is to create a hypertext document with assertions that you can verify by clicking on them and reading the entire relevant sections of supporting documents and judge for yourself.

Summary: Worth Reading if you are a Truth-Seeker
Review: "Rule by Secrecy," by Jim Marrs, is for truth-seekers. As the introduction to the book says, if you are satisfied with believing what you know, this book is not for you. I believe that if you are interested in taking a few steps closer to the truth, then you will enjoy this book.

The book is large (over 400 pages) and covers so much information that it is like reading 2 or 3 books in one. The author takes a lot of conspiracy theory literature and sums it up in a way that is a great introduction to the subject for those who have not read much on the topic.

"Rule by Secrecy" covers various secret political organizations, Freemasons, banking, and how these groups dramatically influence our world. The common thread of these groups is woven together and traced back to ancient Egypt and Sumer. The amount of material is quite lengthy, and you are in for a great review of many topics and issues.

I found most of the criticism this book received was distorting what was said in the book and purely pro-establishment typical rhetoric (viz., what they want you to believe). But one would expect this as "Rule by Secrecy" exposes such seedy public manipulation that, if known, would cause mass public outcry. This is not to say some of the criticism of the book is totally off-base. For instance, although the book has a "sources" section in the back, some of the quotes and references I looked for in the "sources" section were not there.

If you are a "truth-seeker," Jim Marrs' book "Rule by Secrecy" is probably worth reading. As the book quotes and mentions many other books and authors, it will serve as a good starting place for a deeper look into these issues.

Summary: Very factual book, compelling and provoking!
Review: There are some silly or distorted conspiracy theories books, there are thought-provoking books on the same subject. This book offered more than that. it's compelling, fascinating, absurd, intriguing and somewhat dubious. Well-researched and factual, the author just presented what he had learned, researched and assembled from various sources, weeding out fiction from truth and let the readers decide for themselves. The history of the origin of the Federal Reserve will surprise you: its very existence will serve a greater purpose with the world in the 21st century.

The only faults with the author tended to inject controversial pieces from the crazy crackpot theorists like David Icke as well as the author mixing up few erroneous facts in the wrong places or times. However, considering the huge amount of sources he compiled and put together, it can be daunting to any author to carefully construct a secret history based on facts, not based on biased opinions or junk theories. David Icke constructed a secret history based on his distorted views, biased researches and junk theories.

Not Jim Marrs. The man did his homework well. He deserved an A for such a daunting, if courageous, effort! The UFO/alien involvement in the ancient past at the end of this book is somewhat dubious and need to be treated with benign prejudice. Unless compelling evidence support that theory.

Highly recommended to read. Great if you read Dan Brown's novel, "Angels and Demons" or "The Da Vinci Code".
