Rating: Summary: There Are No Tesla Journals Review: As soon as I read that the alleged journals were taken away by MIB's and that this book was based on 'recollection' .. I was quite disappointed and irate at the misleading book title.
Rating: Summary: Tesla was the greatest mind of our times, a man out of time Review: Discredited, said to be mad, then it's funny the FBI confiscated all his material, and it remains classified to this day. The man was an all out genius, and the Lost Journals of Nikola Tesla show a human side to the man, who's biggest hopes were only to help and benifit man kind. Great reading, brings to light many of the hurdles this poor man faced in his time. Viewed not unlike a heretic of old, blasphemy to the main stream, yet today, we still could use the things this genius developed before the 1900's even came. Excellent read, must have for any Tesla enthusiasts.
Rating: Summary: Good book finally about Tesla Review: I am very happy that I bought this book. I have heard only a little bit about Nikola Tesla and I recently saw a documentary on PBS about him. After I saw this show, I went to Amazon looking for more information about him. This is where I saw and bought the book by Tim Swartz. It is very nicely put together and informative. It also covers some subjects that others seem to be afraid to cover.
Rating: Summary: The strange life of Nikola Tesla Review: I first saw this book reviewed in FATE magazine, and I was intrigued. I teach a high school class in broadcast history and technology, and I knew that Tesla had a part in its development, I just did not know that he played such a key role in modern electrical technology. This book really gets into what Tesla is all about. Where he came from, and the contributions he made to our world. The author also gets into Tesla's other experiments and ideas, even those that seemed too wild at the time. Some people have complained that this book is about Tesla and conspiracies. It seems to me that not enough has been written about the way this man's work has been ignored, and yes, maybe a conspiracy to keep us from knowing what he discovered. I'm glad the author has taken a chance to write about this subject. This is a really good book. I have bought several copies to keep in my class room and I think that anyone interested in Tesla and the conspiracy to keep his science secret will enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! Review: I just saw a special on Nikola Teslaon PBS the other night...just a couple of days after reading this book. I was amazed that this work wentso far beyond what was on this special. It was good, however, to see and hear Tesla talk about his work . I had never basicly realized that he had done so much besides working on the invention of radio and electricity -- which others got credit for. I was particularly intrigued by the fact that claimed to be receiving messages from space and thought that extraterrestrials had originally bought life to earth. This is sort of what Brad Steiger talks about in STAR GODS - CLONE MASTERS FROM SPACE. The one other book on Tesla that touches upon the weirder aspects of his life is the Commander X book - NIKOLA TESLA; FREE ENERGY AND THE WHITE DOVE, where you will find speculation that Tesla might have been a Walk In ...which means he could have been a reincarnated soul from another planet. I highly recommend both titles, though I particularly enjoyed LOST JOURNALS perhaps a bit more!
Rating: Summary: Book A Little Biased to the Conspiracy Theorist Review: I was disappointed in this book. I was hoping for a biography and an introduction on N. Tesla.. It is mostly a book full of one to two page 'essays' on N. Tesla's work and work related events..
Rating: Summary: Awful, National Enquirer level work Review: I was so irritated by this book that I'm writing this review. Like one of the reviewers above, I recently found out about Tesla (I was reading a Spider Robinson book) and was intrigued enough to jump onto Amazon to find a decent, casual biography on the man. What did he invent, why didn't he receive the fame due him, is there anything he invented still used today? One of the stories on Telsa I was looking to confirm was that he had had his invention of radio ripped off by Marconi! I happened to pick this book and was disappointed to the point of being pissed off. This book is not professionally written or edited, sounds like stories out of tabloids, has no organization, and throws in illustrations randomly that do not add useful information to the topic being discussed. It is all sensation, no facts. Well, they present plenty of "facts" but nothing with a real source. All the "facts" are anecdotal, not substantiated in any rigorous way. It sounds purely made up when you read it. They imply that he was the target of government and corporate interference both during his day and even currently. I have heard stories of that in other sources but here it is presented as a big conspiracy that you have to believe in on faith. They even talk about Men in Black coming to steal his old papers from a collector. Unbelievable! There is no coherent overview of his life, his inventions, his patents. This is written by people who long to live in the world of the X-Files for real and never paid attention in high school English class. After reading this book I'm still curious about Tesla but now I'm out [good money].
Rating: Summary: The Great Giant Review: I'd recommend this book to those who are more open minded. The book is an interesting read. It has a lot of interesting facts about Tesla and others that will paint a picture for you. Although IMHO there's some extra fluff and it wonders off into the lives of other people, it's mainly about Tesla. If you're the kind of person that wants something simple and factual then this is not for you. For those who can juggle numerous quantum facts to paint a final picture that could very well shock you, then give this book a try. I personally enjoyed it. No, it will not give you a diagram how to design a Free Energy machine, or an ET radio :-) But it will definitely entertain and ... give you lot's of helpful clues how this great giant did such things.
Rating: Summary: I would not buy this book Review: If you are looking for new material about Tesla, do not buy this book. The only thing that is told about these so called lost journals is that they are lost (stolen by MIBs, of course)! The rest of the book is a compendium of conspiracy theories using Tesla's name as a come on for you to keep reading. After a few pages, it gets very boring. In summary, no new material here, just Tesla's name used to get you to read the authors' conspiracy theories.
