Summary: A book for free thinking individuals
Review: The kind of Satanism described in this book is nothing like the kind that you hear about on TV.It's for the most part a very rational, useful, uninhibited, often wise, and life loving philosophy for getting the most out of life. Who would have guessed that the "devil" would be the one telling the truth?

Summary: A dangerously clever book by a dangerously clever man
Review: The Satanic Bible doesn't read like religious text. It might as well be called The Satanic Brainstorm. Although I don't agree with everything in it, this book makes more sense than anything I've ever read. By the end of it, the reader is left wanting to read everything LaVey's ever written. The one and only criticism I have is the constant restatement and emphasis on the hypocracy of Judeo-Christian ethics. To even understand this book, one most likely is already aware of these contradictions. Make that two criticisms; LaVey has his own occasional hypocracy, although it's very hard to pinpoint or even realize. Because so much of this book is shrouded with sarcasm, these seemingly hypocritical ideas may be intentional. All in all, this is the finest philosophical work I could have ever imagined. It puts all of your own ideas, that you were too blind or scared to realize, down on paper in a clear and frighteningly clever way. This book is the bible for the thinking man. Young impressionable teenagers shouldn't read it. I know a 16 year old who read it and got the totally wrong idea. One needs to already have a mature idea of what one believes before reading this. The sarcasm needs to be recognized for what it is.

Review: I read the book for the first time a few days ago and I loved it so much. It answered all my questions about everything. Anyone (even christians) should read it.

Summary: True Magic and Reason Exalted!
Review: This book has a very special place in my life for two reasons: 1. It surprised me with it's lack of hype or madness; 2. I could almost believe, with some grammatical variation, that I had written it myself. This book made me aware that I was not "the only one who felt this way". High Priest Anton Szandor LaVey has here written a text that agrees with my own nature. I was actually in the process of cleansing the ridiculous bonds of ignorant additions from the Magical Arts when I finally read what I had previously assumed to be a fraudulent, hyped up jest. My only motivation for reading the Satanic Bible initially was purely amusement. I was both surprised and exultant to find that this work was expressing my own feelings and goals. In addition, I was surprised to find it had been written (just) before I was born! This is a text that details True Magic and Natural Religion. To authentic Witches and Warlocks it conveys that feeling of "coming home". My only regret is that I shall never meet the author personally. If Magic is what you seek - buy this book.

Summary: Good wake up call-!
Review: It's imposible to run away from sin. We commit sin everyday of our lives. Even the Christian Church sins by being hypocritical. But, from what I've learn from the book is that you should just be content with who you are. I feel that Jesus will forgive you in the end. No matter how many sins you commit. God created us to be imperfect so that when the day come that we die we know that it is impossible to reach salvation without him. I would concider this book nothing more than a wake call for those Christians who think they don't commit as many sins as they think they commit.

Summary: If you know what you want you will learn from this.
Review: If you already have an idea of the sort of text you would like to read, as opposed to wide phelosiphy or just something enteresting then this is your book. If you have no idea about the subject of Satanism but think it would interest you, then I recomend reading 'The Devils Note Book' by Anton Szandor LaVey first, sort of, as an introduction to the subject. 'The Satanic Bible' is full of usefull ways to view every day topics, like Love and Hate. A good 'Hand Book'

Summary: fantastic and a must
Review: Anton LaVey squashes the stereotypical and/or church point of view on satanism with this honest and resourceful book. i am 15 years old and tried to accept christianity, but they are hypocrytical and don't give anyone a chance. i was sick of people preaching to me whats "right" and whats "wrong", when i should be able to make to make up my own mind. the Late Great Anton LaVey gave me that chance, and even if people judge me because of what i believe, thats their choice, because they aren't open minded enough. i am happy, and i think that this book has helped me... everyone should read it, it should be compulsory and be given as much publicity as the christian Bible.

Summary: Not what you think
Review: All i really wanted to say is that i have been looking at all the negative reviews of this book and it became very obvious that almost all of the negatives are from people who didn't even read the book.They ask how we could worship satan when "he" doesn't feel any differantly about us then christians.They refer to satan as a being,when satanism does not.I guess its expected,christians, I have found to be some of the most close minded ignorant people on the planet.
