Summary: A Great Reference Tool
Review: Sure, this book is a little heavy in it's wording and Seax-Wica is the main focus but it's a great place to go for many subjects. From meditation to color magick. From a handfasting ritual to a Yule ritual you are sure to find at least a brief explination of most topics important to modern Witchcraft. I say go for it and enjoy. A little difficult for beginners though.

Summary: Awesome
Review: I loved the book. Although i would have liked to read a bit more about calling tne watch towers.the contents of the book were amazing .I haven't seen any book that had so many different rituals in it .everything was so interesting

Summary: The ultimate beginner's reference!
Review: I bought this book when I began practicing Wicca- almost 3 1/2 years ago. This book gives you basic history and beliefs. It gives the information new practitioners need about numerology, the ingredients of an alter, herbalism, etc. It is also an excellent referance on divination, from Tarot to Cheiromancy (palm reading). And remember all you newbies out there: "An' it harm none, do as thou will." Blessed Be

Summary: The definitive teaching-tool of Witchcraft!
Review: Raymond Buckland has written the best book on Witchcraft that I have ever read! Instead of "chapters," he divides the book into "lessons" and that is exactly what they are! Buckland doesn't miss a single thing regarding Witchcraft. Not only does this book contain history, but the majority of the book could be called a textbook for the study of Witchcraft. I recommend this book to anyone who has decided (or think) that they belong in the Witchcraft community. It is also a great teaching tool for covens and solitary teachers alike.

Summary: WOW! It's a total reference from Tarot to Herbal Healing!!!!
Review: This book is by far the best that i have seen about witchcraft. It explains in depth how to become a witch, what it entales, and waht it means. There is a huge herbal healing index, dream enterpretation index, etc. There are lessons about Tarot, Asdtrology, Palm Reading, Numerold, etc. All lessons have a mini-quick at the end so that you can be sure that you know all of the material. There is a vast supply of spells for many occasions. So many features I couldnm't name them all in three lifetimes! Buckland has deffinately outdone himself!

Summary: A great book for the beginner.
Review: It was a great book to start with. I learned enough from it to know that this was the right path for me. I'd make it required reading for all Wiccan students

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Got me off to a great start
Review: I'm just a beginner in Wicca, but it has given me a great introduction to Wicca overall, but it does concentrate on rituals for covens and only ventures into other traditions briefly. It has given me a good base to start my "Wicca life" so it's definitely worth something.

Summary: Very good for those interested in learning
Review: I feel that Raymond Buckland introduces Wicca in a good positive light and shows us that our religion does not only consist of the goddess and a minute quiet god in the background. He shows us that nature is double sided and balanced. For all the students that come to me I give them two books to work out of: Cunningham's encyclopedia of magical herbs and Buckland's Big Blue Book. It is a wonderful introduction to the beautiful world of Wiccans. Blessed Be!!!

Summary: A very good book for the fundementals of wicca
Review: This book is not the best I have read, but it comes very close. The layout is very good and the instructional style is ne less than excellent. I enthusiastically recommend it for the experienced-beginner

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good refrence book
Review: Buckland did a good job squeezing alot of info into one book and is definitly an investment. Though he does overemphasize his own tradition. If your just starting out as a wiccan then your best bet is to pick up a book by Scott Cunningham. Remember, wicca is a very personal religion and all that you read is from an individuals point of view that may differ from your own.If a book contains the words "'an it harm none, do what thy will" Then your headed in the right direction. Blessed Be
