Summary: Pretty Good
Review: As a newbie to Wicca, I have purchased a few books, Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft being one of them (along with the excellent Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner). I feel that this book explains a lot about Wicca, anything else it misses is picked up in Scott Cunningham books. I suggest this book to people just starting in Wicca (Just don't forget to get Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner)

Summary: nothing special
Review: i dont understand why everyone, thinks this book is oh so wonderful. imo it sucked. yes he covers alot of ground, but he doesnt teach you enough about anything,he acts like his tradition is the only tradition of wicca. plus is too full of himself, now being proud of your accompolishments is one thing but thinking you are the best thing in the craft is another.

Summary: A good book
Review: Merry Meet!

I find this book to be a very good read! I've been praticing witchcraft for about 5 years and it's good to see a book that doesn't confuse "Wicca" with "Witchcraft" cause i'm a witch NOT A WICCAN!

I like this book because I finally have a good book to teach my students from. I use many books but by far this is my best book used for teaching.

If anyone needs some extra help in witchcraft training you can e-mail me at -Midnyght_Raven-@pathwaytodarkness.com

I teach for all ages. SEROUS STUDENTS ONLY! AND YOU MUST HAVE SOME BASIC KNOWN ON THE CRAFT!

Summary: Lots of info, not enough emphasis on one thing
Review: I think this is a great book to get you started thinking about all the different things there are to learn in wicca. The problem was that it tried to cover too much. There wasn't enough emphasis on one particular subject. I find this a lot in books on the craft where the author tries to cover too much territory. I did though love this book because of the various thing it gave some information on, thus leading me to other areas of study. It was pretty good all in all although more for the physical acts of witchcraft than for explaining the reasons and spiritual beliefs behind it. The one section I didn't quite agree with was the section on the history of witchcraft. The rest I found quite interesting. All in all, a pretty good book.

Summary: Great for starting out
Review: This is the book most new pagans start with and rightly so. Many people criticize that there's not enough detail, but I feel that's on purpose. This book was designed to introduce many concepts in one place, it's up to the learner to find out more about one or all of the concepts in this book.

There is no one book out there that will answer all your questions. This book is great for those starting out and as a reference guide and gives a lot of information and nuggets of thought for later research without overwhelming the reader with too much too soon.

I was given this book 10 years ago and it continues to haunt my shelves, as a loaner for those just starting on the pagan path and as a reference tool.

Summary: This book is OK.
Review: This Book is OK for beginners, but in my opinion "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practioner" Scott Cunningham is better.

I have one serious concern about "Pranic Healing" as taught in this book.

Channeling personal lifeforce energy into the recepient until you the healer feels drained is dangerous and will weaken your immune system leaving you succeptible to illnesses.

Universal lifeforce energy is all around you, and there are ways of transmiting this external energy without draining your personal reserves.

Summary: The best book you can get!
Review: This book has taught me so much. I'm just a "beginner" but I know so much because of this book. I love it and I recommed it to anybody interested in learning about the art of wicca. Any book by Raymond Buckland is great...buy them all!

Summary: Lots Of Information BUT not Complete
Review: I am just starting out on my search for my spiritual self, and I was little disappointed. After reading thru the whole book it really doesn't touch bases on anything of a spiritual nature. The information that was given was easy to understand and will proove to be helpful along the way I'm sure.

Summary: The Best Book of Witchcraft on the Market
Review: There seems to be many people who have attempted to deface Ray over the years. I can only assume that pride and ego are the reasons. As a longtime student of Ray Buckland I can attest to his knowledge and complete mastery of Witchcraft. Anyone seeking the TRUTH about this Old Religion should buy this book and study it.

Summary: An Okay Book, but in no way Complete!
Review: Let's start with the good parts of the book 1. Has good information 2. Gives a beginner a good guide to starting in the Craft 3. Deals with alot of topics

Now the bad stuff 1. Is too preachy ( it is said that no one way is correct, and yet he presumes to give the correct answers to his questions at the back of the book ) 2. The author is so full of himself " the first witch in the U.S. to stand up and be public was me, Raymond Buckland " 3. It is implied that his way is the only correct way

Like I said, an okay book, but in no way complete. The tests at the end are useless in my opinion and the answeres are even stupider. How is it that in a religion where there is no correct way, you can have correct answers?? Just a thought.
